Reach for the Stars? Astrolady Formula X

When I first read the description of Astrolady Formula X on their website,  I had an image of myself, hands raised in their air, shooting of into space, nails first.

Formula X invites us to “be the queen of the universe with this pink and gold color-shifting micro-glitter”.

Astrolady Formula X

I picked this up in Sephora the other day because I was attracted to the unique colour of the fine glitter, not realising that the “subtle sparkle” dries with ” a modern, concrete texture.” In other words, its a textured polish.

Formula X Astrolady

Formula X Astrolady Two Coats – Base and Top Coat

I applied two generous coats of Astrolady, using a base coat (Sephora by OPI) and top coat (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri), which is a my go-to for super-fasting drying nails). I think I may have used too much. Of Astrolady, that is. It turned out to be slightly thicker than I wanted, which contributed to faster chipping later on in the week.  I would suggest either one heavy coat or two lighter coats.

Textured polishes (of the concrete or sand-like variety) are not usually my thing, but I did like the way this turned out. It made my hands look more tan and it’s a nice colour for the Summer.

I am becoming a fan, in general, of the Formula X…formula. Their nude colour, Invincible, was part of the Sephora Favourites Meet Your Match kit and turned out to be my favourite polish of the batch.

In conclusion, I would say check out some of the great options Formula X has to offer.

Oh, and for those of you hoping to reach for the stars, I am sorry to report, that upon application, I did not soar into universe with a crown of glitter upon my head but I did feel like a queen. 🙂

What are some of your favourite nail polishes from the Formula X line? Have you tried them.

    1. Thank’s so much hun! So glad I found yours as well. 🙂 I love the bilingual aspect.

      1. I only remembered to check you answer now, oops! My beauty world is pretty much all written and spoken in English, so it feels even more natural for me to think and write in this language. On the other hand, I’m from Italy. I don’t want people to take me as a snob (even though my natural audience speaks mainly English) for ignoring my mother tongue, and I want everyone to be able to read it, so I do the best I can! 🙂

        1. Thank’s really thoughtful of you! I have family in Italy, one of my favourite places to visit. 🙂

          1. Woah, where are they from? I’m from Turin 😉
