I’m starting to think I must go through products way faster than most (see past empties for reference). When I compare my empties posts to others, I’m like – why do I have so many, lol. Partially, it’s because I include other products (like bath & body, my boyfriend’s products and miscellaneous), but still….
When I sat down to sift through my empties bin, after the fourth photograph I was like, O.K., I don’t need to include the empty baby wipes and plastic cotton pad packaging. So that’s out from now on (unless, of course, it’s something that was particularly amazing).
For now, I will keep the other things, because, hey, someone might be interested, right?
Oh, and it goes without saying that I don’t actually use all of these products in one month. Some I did (like the body wash) but most have been open for several months and I just happened to finish them up this month.
As always, a (Y) is “Yes” I will re-purchase, and (M) is “Maybe” and an (N) is “No”. Bearing in mind, sometimes people change their minds about a product. 🙂 We’re only human, after all.
Dr. Dennis Gross Clinical Boosters (Hydrating and Purifying) (Y/M): I reviewed this last month. I don’t think I’d picked up the purifying one again but the hydrating booster was nice to add a little oomph to your moisturizer.
*Clarisonic Brush Head – Normal (Y): Well, I would repurchase if my Clarisonic hadn’t completely died the other day, right after I changed the brush head. Sucks.
*Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 (Y): This is a really great multi-purpose product. Not only does it mattify but it works better than some primers I’ve used (detailed review here)
Clinique Rinse Off Eye Make-up Remover (N): This couldn’t take off anything. The “Take the Day Off” by Clinique is much better.
Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser w/ Shea Butter (M): An O.K. but not outstanding cleanser. Drier skin types may like this, it was nice to use in the mornings. Full review here.
Beauty Formulas Deep Cleansing Facial Wipes (N): I’d never heard of this brand and saw them on the cheap in my local drugstore – never again. They are very dry and the menthol is strong.
*Ole Henriksen Blue/Black Berry Enzyme Mask (Y): One of my favorite masks of all time. This stuff is gorgeous to hydrate, soothe and renew the skin. Oh and the lovely aroma of Lavender isn’t a bad perk either. For more details, check out my full review.
*Ole Henriksen Vitamin Plus Creme Moisturizer (Y): This was a deluxe sample size (GWP), but I really, really enjoyed this moisturizer. Very nice as a day or night time option for combo to oily skin types in the Summer months, but still quite hydrating. And like all of his products, smells divine.
YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat (Y): This sample was sitting around for ages and I finally decided to try it the other day with no particular expectations. I REALLY liked it, surprisingly so. It will remain in the back of my mind for future consideration.
Origins Smarty Pants CC Skin Complexion Correction (M): Again, I didn’t expect much but this product was quite pleasant. Very little coverage but it would make a nice first base for those with drier skin. And it smells so good, like sweet citrus.
Urban Decay Naked Foundation (Y): A good one (yes, although it’s hard to tell from the photo, it’s finished). I prefer this foundation when it’s not so warm, so for Summer I’d mix a little of my Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation to enhance matte-ness and staying power.
Smith’s Rosebud Salve (Y): Kept this in my nightstand to pop on before bed. It’s basically a glorified Vaseline but the subtle rose scent is nice and I prefer this packaging to the tin which you have to stick your finger in.
Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Sweetheart (M): Can I just tell you how happy I am to have finished this up? I thought I’d never get through it! I’ve had it since June last year. I do like these but lately I’m discovering that Crayon type lip products aren’t my favorite. Nothing is wrong with them but, I dunno, I don’t find myself reaching for them as much.
Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara (M): Second deluxe sample size I’ve worked through. This is a nice one for decent length and average volume. (Boots online in the UK is offering a free Lollitint sample with purchase of three Benefit products).
Kat Von D Tattoo Liquid Eyeliner (Y): A deluxe sample size. I’ve got two more back-ups. A HG liquid eyeliner for me.
Make up Forever Aqua Eyes Eyeliner in Black (N): I’m not saying I’ll never repurchase an eyeliner from this line again in my entire life, BUT I wasn’t too thrilled with this formula. I found it transferred from my upper water line to underneath my eyes.
*C.O. Bigalow White Elixir for Men – Body Lotion & Wash (Y): They might as well name this stuff after my boyfriend, his HG, so to speak.
B&BW OAHU Pink Sand Scrub (Y): A lovely everyday scrub that foams slightly with a delightful tropical smell. Grains are like sand.
B&BW Endless Weekend – Triple Moisture Body Lotion and Body Wash (Y): Lovely to use, great summer fragrance this isn’t over-powering.
*Jergens Shea Butter Body Lotion (Y): I like Jergens. I find their lotions absorb really easily. This was a nice mid-weight formula with a subtle shea butter scent.
*Vaseline Total Moisture Aloe Soothe Body lotion (Y): A great light weight, fresh and refreshing lotion for the Summer. Simple. Easy.
*Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch SPF 50 (Y): Use every day for my hands, arms and chest. Absorbs easily, non-greasy, pleasant light floral-coconut scent. Already have another one.
Thymes Body Wash (N): A completely random buy in TJMaxx. Scent was ok. Nothing stood out about this product to me.
Ivory Body Wash Aloe Scent (M): This is one of the cheaper body washes that you can find locally at the Super Market. It was ok.
Giovanni 2chic Avocado and Olive Oil Shampoo (N): Again, nothing stood out about this product to me, it was just O.K.
Agave Oil Healing Oil Treatment (M): My third packet sample. This was nice, I just don’t know if I am completely sold. Worked great for those dry ends though!
*Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Thickening and Straightening Mousse (Y): First off, the scent of this is fantastic. It’s reminiscent of high-end salon mixed with a delightful freshness. Definitely getting the full size.
Hands and Miscellaneous:
B&BW Foaming Hand Washes (Y): Haven’t met once I didn’t like. This line for Spring? Summer? was particularly pleasant.
Dial Liquid Hand Soap (Y): These are good and I have easier access to them than the B&BW soaps.
*100% Pure Honey Almond Butter Hand Cream (Y): Very lovely smell, just like the description, but not overpowering or too sweet. The formula is thick but not greasy. I think it would be great in the cooler months (for those of you who live in places with cooler months).
*Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream with Macadamia Oil and Grapeseed Extract (Y): Another one I really enjoyed the smell is so refreshing in a non-citrus way. You know how most of the time when you think of something refreshing – it’s got some sort of citrus element to it? Well this captures that without being citrusy.
Shiseido Ultimate Sunscreen SPF 50 (M): This is a face & body sunscreen/moisturizer but I used it mostly for my hands. It’s a great all over water resistant sunscreen if you’re going to be outside for prolonged periods. See full review here.
Dermadoctor KP Duty Lotion (?): One packet of this didn’t tell me much, I used it on my elbows. It’s meant to help those with severely dry skin and keratosis pilaris.
B&BW Hand Sanitizers (Y): Again, haven’t met one I didn’t like.
Handy Solutions Hand Sanitizer (N): Don’t but this, it smells awful.
What have you guys been using up this month? Do you find that you actually repurchase the items you’ve loved or move onto something else?
