It’s that time again. August Monthly Favorites. Time to roundup all those beauty bits and other things I’ve been loving over the past month.
My Z Palette: Well, of course, we’ve all got different products in our Z palettes or whatever other customized palettes we may or may not own. I’ve been particular in love with the lower left hand area of this one here which includes my de-potted Wet n Wild 3-pan palette in “Walking on Eggshells”, a really old Lancome brown satin shadow, Covergirl’s Sunset and a few random NYX matte shadows.
Ardency Inn Lip Primer: Love! See full review here.
MAC Lighscapade: Sorry to include a LE product but they re-promote this one quite often, I figure it’ll come round again. This is a gorgeous beige white highlight. *EDIT (03/09/2014): Lightscapade was made permanent sometime in 2012 or 2013.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness: This is a really great product and it makes me want to try more from It Cosmetics. It is really good for those of us that need to cover redness or discoloration. Plus it is super, super light weight on the skin.
Nars Blush in Deep Throat: This is a really great pinky blush with gold shimmer for Summer. I reviewed it along with some other Nars products here.
Skin and Body Care
Dead Sea Essentials by Ahava: A really great everyday foot cream that’s not too sticky or thick. See full review here.
Clarins “Special” Eye Contour Balm: This was the standout product in my recent Clarins Brand Spotlight. Still loving it.
I gave this disclaimer in my first Favorites but for those of you that missed that one, basically, some of my Social Media Favorites have both a blog and youtube channel, however I “separate” them based on how I first discovered them. 🙂
ItsKeerstin. A mix of beauty and refreshing hilarity, Kristen’s channel is entertaining on so many levels. I don’t think there is anyone out there who entertains me as much as she does. And it is not a bad deal to be sung goodbye to at the end of most videos. Of course, she’s provides great beauty reviews as well!
I’m was so happy when Carlene of Queen Carlene popped up again in my feed. She took a little break from You Tube for a while but it’s good to have her back. When it comes to beauty reviews, she’ll tell you like it is! Much love from one island girl to another!
Ashlynn of A Beauty Moment has been blogging for a while now and her lovely blog has definitely been one of my favorites this month. She discusses a range of topics beyond beauty and makeup and its great to get the perspective of someone who has been doing this a bit longer.
I’ve been so happy to discover Canadian beauty, Crystal of Nerdy Librarian Girl. She is an actual librarian, how cool is that? Besides her well thought out beauty reviews, she’s also got a great old Hollywood, vintage style!
Jaq’s blog, Lazy Days Beauty, is the place to be not only for awesome beauty perspectives but great tips for current and aspiring bloggers. I’ve learnt so much about blogging from her post, like creating my first Polyvore wish list!
Besides her genuinely informative beauty-related posts, Kristy of Effortlessly Excessive will have you in stitches as she recounts the adventures of her daily life in Finland. Fair warning, don’t attempt to consume liquids while reading. 🙂
Looking for some fashion inspiration? Look no further than Nikki over at Ruby Sapphire. Love the fun looks she puts together and the great designers that she features!
Thus, we come to the conclusion of my August Monthly Favorites. Please let me know if you’ve tried out any of the products featured. Also, if you happen to visit any of my Social Media Favs, which I highly encourage, please tell them Kimmy from Beauty Isles says “Hello”. To see my favorites from last month, check out this post. I think some of the links weren’t working when I initially posted July’s favorites and for this, I do apologise. Hopefully they’re working now!
Please share your favorites, beauty, social media or otherwise, in the comment section below. Look forwarding to hearing about what you guys have been loving!
