I was browsing Sephora’s website a few weeks ago when I came across the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer. Reading the product description, I was intrigued by the reference to a “unique, triangular tip”. Hmm, I thought I’ve never tried this type of brow pencil before. And as soon as the thought formulated in my mind, I knew I was in trouble. What was suppose to be a quick peek at what was new at Sephora turned into a marathon browsing session as I explored what there was to offer in the world of triangle tipped brow pencils. Several hours later and I had not one, not two…but five new eyebrow pencils in my cart. Checkout. Crazy, I know. Anyway, I thought it might be fun to bring you guys along on the journey as I test and review these eyebrow pencils. It will be a Battle of the Brows.
You’ll notice that not all of these brow pencils have the same triangle tip design. I kind of made a mistake with the Surratt Expressioniste Pencil. For some strange reason, I had it in my mind that it had a slanted/triangle tip when, obviously, it does not. But I decided to include it anyway. So this is how the Battle of the Brows is going to work. This post introduces the products that I’m going to talk about: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer (Ebony), Lashfood Browfood Eco Precision 2-Tone Brow Pencil (Dark Brunette), Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil (Natural Black), Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer (Ebony) and Surratt Beauty Expressioniste Brow Pencil (Raven). They are listed from least to most expensive. I chose the darkest shades as my hair is black and prefer my brows to look as close to that as possible. Some may think this look is too harsh, but that’s my personal preference.
During the month of March I’ll be posting reviews, including demos on my brows, of each brow pencil separately (I’ve begun testing already). At the end of the month, I’ll post a “round-up” of sorts comparing them and letting you guys know which ones are my favorites. Look out for my first review and demo this weekend. In the meantime, enjoy this preview of things to come. Some comparison swatches:
Have you guys tried any of these brow pencils? What do you think of the Battle of the Brows series?
