The Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush (I’m Back!)

Hey beauties! I’m Back! Although it’s been a little over a month since I last posted, it sure hasn’t felt that way. While I’ve definitely missed you guys and missed posting, with a newborn on my hands time has flown by in the wink of an eye. I can’t believe it’s been almost three months since I officially became a Momma! I’m still in disbelief. Lol. Anyway, let’s get to the topic of this post: the Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush. You guys know me by now. As soon as the first press photos of Chanel’s Spring 2016 LA Sunrise collection were released, I knew I’d own this blush. How could I resist? And actually, I’m somewhat ashamed to admit that this isn’t actually going to be a traditional review…

Before I elaborate on that, let’s take a closer look at this limited edition stunner. First things first: the packaging. Pretty standard Chanel. The blush is housed in a velvet pouch and comes with a small brush that, incidentally, also has it’s own velvet pouch. I cant speak to the quality as I haven’t used the brush yet…more on that later…

Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush Review

The Sunkiss Ribbon Blush is a composition of five separate colors (orange, light pink, fuchsia, beige, and pinky-coral) arranged in an interlaced pattern that mimics the actual Chanel gift-wrap ribbons. In fact, I just had a gift wrapped for someone this past weekend and was able to compare the real life red and gold ribbons to this blush which is breathtakingly detailed. Behold:

But here’s the thing. It’s so beautiful that I just couldn’t swatch it. I really, really tried, I’ve had the Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush for almost three weeks now (purchased it online as soon as it was released). Everyday I took it out its box, removed it from the pouch, clicked open the compact and stared at it…willing myself to run my finger across it’s delicate surface. And everyday I failed to complete this task. I’m such a dork. Anyway, I have it on good authority that swirled together (because trying to get at the individual colors is just a ridiculous endeavor) you get a glowy, golden pink-coral. The finish is satin (as I’ve gathered from online swatches) and you can actually tell from looking at the blush that it will have some sheen to it. Camera flash captures the shimmer…

Anyway, if I ever muster the courage to ruin this beautiful blush, I’ll update this post with some swatches. Until that time, I’ll continue to enjoy just having it in my collection. A little lame, perhaps, but, hey…you’re talking to a beauty junkie here. 🙂

The spendy Chanel Sunkiss Ribbon Blush retails for $70.00 USD (Chanel.com, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus). I don’t think it has released in the U.K. as yet (I believe early February).

This is the kind of makeup items I wouldn’t want to touch either. Just a collector type of piece!

Lol. Sorry Julie, as I was typing the reply I was on the phone with my friend, Merlene! Haha. Funny how our brains work! xo

  9. I couldn’t spend $70 on a product and not use it because it would ruin the look, but is super pretty, though Ibwould have liked to see a swatch. Maybe next time.

I know what you mean. There was just something about this product though. It’s the first time this has ever happened to me. I’ve never purchased/featured something that I’ve not used/swatched. Still haven’t been able to do it!

  10. Wow! So gorgeous! And welcome back! Hope you are loving every minute of your new mommy life 🙂 I think I would probably be the same as you and not be able to use this 🙂 x

Welcome back 🙂 hope you and baby are doing well! This is absolute beautiful so I can see why you haven’t dared to touch it yet, but hope you will use it soon as I’m sure it’s just as beautiful on the face x

  11. Not lame at all! I think most of us has been there at some point. If you look back on some of my first posts you’ll see my very faint swatches because I was just so afraid of breaking my stuff in lol. Now I just rip stuff open and dig in. But I’d probably be hesitant with this one. It’s perfect!

  12. So happy to see you back my friend! I didn’t purchase this blush for two reasons: I knew I wouldn’t be able to use it as it’s so gorgeous, and when I swatched it I thought that even if I would I wouldn’t probably use it much due to the shade. It’s still so, so beautiful!
Wishing you a wonderful week, can’t wait to see more posts from you coming! 🙂 xx
