February Empties: Still Going Strong

I’m back with another post featuring my always excessive beauty empties. This past month my collection was characterized by many almost empty bottles and containers. Just saying. As always, I’ll offer “mini reviews” of the products featured in February empties as well as indicate whether I’ll repurchase with a (Y) is “Yes”, (M) is “Maybe” or (N) is “No”.

February Empties – Makeup:

February Empties Makeup

Perricone No Foundation Foundation Serum (M) (Full Review): A thin, light-weight formula that leaves a natural, dewy finish. Best applied with fingers but towards the end I started mixing it with with some of my fuller coverage foundations and this allowed me to use my beloved Beauty Blender.

Nars Via Veneto Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner (Y): My Holy Grail pencil liner in black that stays put in the waterline and doesn’t smudge. I’m interested in testing the waters again if any one has an recommendations on bullet proof liners. 🙂

L’oreal Youth Code Pore Vanisher (Don’t Know): O.k., this is not empty but I included to highlight the dangers of accumulating too many products. I opened this to use the other day and it had completely separated. I must have purchased it over a year ago. :/

Laura Geller Mascara (N): It was a GWP, but I believe this was the GlamLASH Dramatic Volumizing Mascara. A drier formula that gave decent volume but I wasn’t wowed enough to purchase.

*Kevyn Aucoin Kevyn Aucoin The Volume Mascara (M) (Full Review): Those with thicker would probably really like this for a natural look. For me, it works great as a partner mascara to separate the lashes but I need to go in with some else to create more volume.

Chanel Le Volume de Chanel (Y) (Full Review): My HG mascara for volume and length.

Lip Glosses (N): These are the remnants of my lipgloss #projectmakeadent.

February Empties – Skincare:

February Empties Skincare

Clarins Toning Lotion With Iris (N) (Full Review): I wasn’t able to figure out if this was breaking me out or not, but rather than risk it, I won’t be repurchasing.

*Purity Made Simple Cleanser (Y): This simple cleanser is always in my rotation. I usually purchase it every year during the Sephora Black Friday sale. 🙂

*Bioderma Micelle Solution, Sensitive Skin (Y): At some point, I will purchase this again. Actually it isn’t sold here but my mum picked it up for me in Canada a while back (hauled here).

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes (Y): Neutrogena makes some of the best drugstore cleansing cloths in my opinion.

*Ole Henriksen Grease Relief Cleansing Cloths (Y) (Full Review): My favorite high end cleansing clothes. The original is the best but the textured weave of the grease relief cloths are good for those days when you find yourself combating extra gunk. They leave behind a cooling sensation that I enjoy but not everyone will be a fan of.

*Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser (Y) (Full Review): As promised, this product takes off all of my makeup, leaving my skin feeling refreshed, clean, soft and nourished. And best of all? Like all of Ole Henriksen’s products, it smells divine! It has a slightly sweet, fresh citrus scent that I find relaxing.

*Rodial Stemcell Superfood Products (M) (Full review): Having recently reviewed these, I won’t go into too much detail other than to say that I’ll probably purchase the Facial Oil at some point.

Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm (Y) (Full Review): Best eye cream ever. Absorbs quickly, hydrating my eye area like nothing else I’ve ever tried.

Kiehls Ultra Facial Moisturizer (Y): This was Mr. Bear’s night time moisturizer. He is now using something else that he doesn’t like as much. It is likely he’ll go back to the Kiehls after that’s finished.

Dr. Dennis Gross Acne Eliminating Pads (Y): I talked about these briefly in last months favorites. Basically I received a pack of three with a Sephora purchase, fell in love and purchased the full size.

Tarte Maracuja Oil (N) (Full Review): I really like it for the cuticles and it’s a good one to mix in with your body moisturizer during the winter, but there are other facial oils that I like better.

Dr. Dennis Gross Clinical Boosters (M) (Full Review): I liked it for mixing with a light moisturizer to prep my face before makeup for a healthy glow. But the applicator annoyed me. It is a thicker serum and not well served by a dropper style dispenser.

*Glamglow Masks (M) (Full review): I think I may purchase the Dual Cleanse, but want to try the Supermud first.

February Empties – Haircare:

February Empties Haircare
Bumble & Bumble Grooming Creme (Y): Mr. Bear’s HG styling product.

Living Proof Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner (Y) (Full Review): These were deluxe samples I received with a Sephora purchase. My curls love this stuff. I’m planning to purchase soon, but don’t know if I should try their range for curly hair first?

Phyto Secret de Nuit Intense Hydration Regenerating Night Cream (N): A restorative night treatment for hair, I didn’t notice enough to make me want to purchase.

February Empties – Bath and Body:

February Empties Bath and Body

I decided to exclude all of the Bath and Body Works products this month (of which there were many), given that I mention and use them regularly.

Tone Oil Infusions Exotic Argan & Marula Oils Body Wash (Y): Smells very warm and rich. It doesn’t foam as well as my beloved Bath and Body Works Body Washes, but it does a decent job.

*Bliss Grapefruit + Aloe Body Butter (Y): Absorbs so well. These body butters are pricey but a pleasure to use. The Grapefruit scent is subtle and refreshing.

Jergens Age Defying Lotion (M): The Jergens lotion is my fall back when I run out of BBW and can’t get to a store (in the U.S.) It’s decent and affordable.

  1. Thanks so much for sharing these great finds. I love Bumble and Bumble

    1. Isn’t Bumble & Bumble great? The styling creme is so light weight and yet effective in giving a natural looking hold. Mr. Bear loves it!

Wow, you finished a lot this month! 😀 I love love love those Maybelline Color Elixirs. I have so many colors I don’t think I’ll ever finish any of them. LOL We seem to have opposite experiences in a lot of things for example the Tarte Maracuja Oil (mine would be a Y repurchase) and Neutrogena wipes and Philosophy Purity Made Simple (mine would be a N). 😀

I have a brand new NARS Via Veneto eyeliner that I haven’t used yet! Good to hear it’s a great liner. I’m more excited to use it now. 🙂

    1. Hehe. That’s how it goes sometimes, which is why its always so great to have different perspectives. Let me know how you get on with NARS Via Veneto! xo

  2. I still haven’t bought a maybe line color elixir! Now I know I must have one. ASAP! Great reviews doll!

    1. Thank you Julie. I actually didn’t care for this Color Elixir but I think it had something to do with the color, not the formula. I should have clarified that. BUT, generally, I’ve heard good things about them. xo

  3. I always see that Purity cleanser but I’ve never picked it up – next time I’m looking for one I’ll have to stop by Sephora and pick it up. I’m intrigued and it always seems to get rave reviews.

    1. Th Purity cleanser is a staple for many. It is a pricey item and perhaps, not the most transformative, ground breaking product out there but I do enjoy having it in my collection from time to time. It is reliable and gentle enough on my skin. 🙂
