Skincare Sunday: First Aid Beauty Spring Skin Savers Kit

Today’s overview is a slight departure from my regular skincare reviews and more like a first impressions type post. Usually, I like to give it little more time (at least four weeks or more) before I share with you my overall opinion of any skincare product. But when I snagged the First Aid Beauty Spring Skin Savers Kit at Sephora, I thought it was such an incredible value, I had to share it as soon as possible. Unfortunately, I wasn’t quick enough as the kit appears to be sold out online (you can keep checking this link in case the kit comes back in stock). But I found mine in stores not too long ago, so there’s still hope.

First Aid Beauty Spring Skin Savers Kit Review

According to First Aid Beauty, this skincare kit “has everything you need to repair winter weather-beaten skin so you can once again flaunt healthy-looking radiance”. Whether one is getting over winter or not (depending on where you live), I think this kit is worth a look as it includes some of F.A.B.’s best products, good for year round use in my opinion:

  • F.A.B. Face Cleanser
  • F.A.B. Ultra Repair Liquid Recover
  • F.A.B. Skin Rescue Purifying Mask
  • F.A.B. Ultra Repair Cream

The set retails for $54.00 USD. If you don’t know much about the brand,  First Aid Beauty designs its products to be appropriate for even the most sensitive skin. All products are allergy-tested and dermatologist-recommended.

The gentle and fragrance-free F.A.B. Face Cleanser claims to removes surface oils, makeup, and dirt…cleaning and calming the skin (and helping with redness). It contains the FAB Antioxidant Booster (white tea, licorice root, and feverfew) which promises to block damaging free radicals while the formula is pH-balanced to maintain the natural acidity of the skin.  It has a light, whipped texture and develops a moderate foam when making contact with water.

I’ve only used the cleanser a handful of times, but I can definitely say it’s gentle yet effective at cleansing. A full size (5 oz) of the cleanser retails for $20.00 USD. But the 2 oz size included in the set is also sold separately for $10.00 USD.

FAB says you can use the Ultra Repair Liquid Recovery to reduce dry patches and redness. It’s “skin-saving” ingredients (including red algae, honey proteins, and oat extract) also promise to hydrate, repair stressed skin, and reduce environmental damage, “leaving the complexion looking smoother, less blotchy, and more youthful.”

Unfortunately, I have not use the liquid recovery yet. The Ultra Repair Cream has been so transformative, I haven’t needed anything extra (more on that in a second). A full size of the Ultra Repair Liquid Recovery, 1.25 oz (which is the size included in the kit), retails for $38.00 USD.

The non-greasy Ultra Repair Cream is definitely the stand out product for me. I’ve used a sample in the past but it was a packet and I couldn’t really asses the products full potential at that time. But my, how good it’s turned out to be. The Repair Cream promises to “fully quench dry skin—from head to toe—providing optimal relief to the driest skin conditions and amazing results that’ll inspire you to show some skin”. It is particularly recommended for anyone with severely dry, scaly skin due to harsh winter weather, aggressive cosmetic treatments, or any of the following conditions: atopic dermatitis, irritant eczema, allergic eczema, and keratosis pilaris. Primary ingredients include colloidal oatmeal, shea butter, soothing eucalyptus oil, and ceramides as well as the FAB Antioxidant Booster.

I don’t consider my skin severely dry or scaly skin (more oily combo)…but I do suffer from some dehydration and get the occasional dry patch. For a few weeks, I’d been battling a particular red and itchy patch of skin around the neck. The OZ Naturals serum that I was using (reviewed here) and still use, helped considerably with the situation. But, the Ultra Repair Cream is like a whole other level, people. In one night it cleared the remnants of redness in that area. I’ve also gotten in the habit of using it as an eye cream substitute without any sensitivity or irritation. Best of all, although it is highly effective moisturizer, it has a beautiful whipped texture that is light and airy.

I highly recommend Ultra Repair Cream. A full 5 oz size (which is the size included in the kit) retails for $30.00 USD.

Finally, we have the Skin Rescue Purifying Mask, “a peel-off treatment that works to detox and purify the complexion”. After 20-minutes, this mask promises to detoxify and deeply purify the complexion by drawing out skin impurities with a potent concentration of red clay in addition to regulating excess sebum and eliminating clogged pores.  What’s more, FAB says the “mineral rich red clay reduces congestive pigmentation in problem areas where pimples previously formed and improves the skin’s texture”.  I’m not usually a fan of peel off masks, but this last part of the description has me excited to try it (haven’t yet). The mask is also an Allure Beauty winner.

A full size of 3 oz (which is the size included in the set) retails for $30.00 USD.

If you’ve done the math, then you’ll see that the First Aid Beauty Spring Skin Savers Kit is a fantastic value, housing approximately $108.00 USD worth of products for half the price. In the market for some new skincare? Check your local Sephora to see if this kit is still in stock OR consider the products individually, the Ultra Repair Cream is worth its weight in gold, if you ask me. 🙂

You can find First Aid Beauty products on the company’s website, at Sephora and Feel Unique, among other retailers.

I’ve long been curious about this brand but never did too the plunge and purchase any. This kit is a great way to test the products. Great review, Kimmy. I’ll check if I can get my hands on this kit.

Thanks, Shireen. There are even smaller (and cheaper) kits on Sephora which look great to trial some of FAB’s products. xo

I love the sound of all of these and have been dying to try First Aid Beauty – I will definitely see if this is going to be stocked anywhere in the UK! xx

The only places I know that you get FAB in the UK are online at Feel Unique and Amazon UK. I think it used to be available at Boots but that no longer seems to be the case…I could be wrong. 🙂 xo

Oh man, I am always so jealous of the Sephora kits! They are always EPIC! Things like that just don’t happen here often (or at all). The cream has definitely piqued my interest! I’d like to hear how the serum works once you’ve got the chance to give it a go 🙂

    1. Kimmy

Sephora does carry some epic kits, this is true. I actually haven’t even opened the serum yet! #skincarejunkie hehe

Hmmm interesting. This does really sound like a good deal!
Also, I love your blog’s colour scheme! (is that a weird thing to comment on? haha).

Thank you, Pia. And no, that wasn’t a weird thing to comment on at all. I love blue, lol. 🙂

I would really like to have a try onto the skin rescue purifying mask which I have been eyeing for quite long and this product is one of the wish lists too. I love your blog and if you fancy a read, check onto my blog https://lifestylebites3.wordpress.com

I’ve used the Purifying mask several times now and it is fantastic! Face feels so clean afterwards and looks that way as well. A definite recommend! 🙂

      1. Lifestylebites3

That’s great and I will give it a try.

It’s a brand I can recommend with confidence. There are mini mini kits at Sephora for under $15 I think… 🙂

This is the second positive review of the Ultra Repair Cream that I’ve read this week so I need it in my life! xx

Yes you do need it in your life, lol. In all seriousness, it’s a great, simple but effective moisturizer. 🙂

  9. Alina

Ive been reading so many positive reviews on the brand recently and the fact that it’s aimed to hydrate/repair the skin sounds fantastic for my skin, especially when summer dies down x

I think it would be so great for drier skin types. I’m oily combo and haven’t had any problems using it in this hot, humid weather (I usually on use at night) 🙂

  10. anoushkaloves

We sold FAB Ultra cream at work and I wasn’t particularly impressed but I keep reading so many good reviews, that I think It may be just me who didn’t give it chance!

I think its one of those products that doesn’t necessarily do anything…cosmic i.e. you’re fine lines won’t disappear overnight. It’s just a great, simple no frills moisturizer. Ya know? It worked so well on my skin irritations that I think it’s worth having – not just for the face. 🙂

  11. Laura/Pink Frenzy (@Pink_Frenzy)

I have yet to try the brand. I have read so many reviews how amazing their products are. Hopefully this year I pick up some of their goodies 🙂

I hope you get to try FAB soon. They have so many great little kits at Sephora and such. 🙂 xo

  12. Jaa

Ahh too bad you haven’t used the Liquid Recovery yet! I was interested in learning more about it! The mask is also interesting. Hopefully you’ll be able to update this post once you have tested them! 🙂

    1. Kimmy

Hopefully, I’ll be able to update it soon Jaa. I have used the mask and it is da bomb! It’s weird pulling if off but skin feels so clean and un-clogged after. 🙂

  13. Renata Burden (@SpeakinBeautyUK)

This does look like an incredible kit indeed. I’m really keen to try the red clay mask and the ultra repair cream. It sounds amazing! Great review. 🙂 x
