Holiday Makeup Gift Ideas (and My Haul)

A few weeks back, I mentioned that I may do a few Holiday Gift Guides. I was hesitant at first (for a number of reasons), but decided to go for it! There are so many special edition items and values sets released for the holidays and deciding between them can be overwhelming. I’m starting off with Holiday Makeup Gift Ideas, which includes things I’ve already hauled and some things I’m thinking of purchasing and recommend.

holiday makeup gift ideas - Benefit Box of Blushes, Lorac Lustre Drops, Too Faced Melted Kisses

Let’s start with what I’ve already purchased:

Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes (Limited Edition): Although there were mixed reviews of the blush set (mostly because some of the shades appear slightly different than the original), I think it’s still an incredible value. It contains 5 almost full sizes of Benefit’s famous Boxed Blushes: Dandelion, Sugarbomb, CORALista, Bella Bamba and Rockateur as well as the Hoola Bronzer, in addition to a mini Watt’s Up Highlighter. Unfortunately, it seems to be sold out almost everywhere (online), but as of this post, it is still available on the Boots website for those of you in the U.K. I haven’t swatched it because I’m still contemplating giving this as a gift.

Lorac The Royal 3D Liquid Lustre Set (Limited Edition): Simply Stunning. I had to have them. Lorac invites you to “rule this season” with this set of four “pastel, princess-inspired, long-lasting, shimmering top coats in Opal, 24K, Rose Quartz, and Amethyst” that impart a “3-Dimensional sparkle and shine”. The liquid lustres can be applied over eye shadow or worn individually on eyes and cheeks. I am extremely excited to create some holiday looks using these multi-dimensional liquids. This set is a great deal – it contains four (4) full sizes which usually retail for $16.00 USD each. But you can get the set for $28.00 USD. I may pick up another! Just look at the swatches. I tried to capture the dimension of these guys as best I could.

Too Faced Melted Kisses Set (Limited Edition): I’ve already sang the praises of this cute little set, where you can get four (4) generous sizes of the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks for $25.00 USD. A full size retails for $22.00 USD. They’re sold out almost everywhere but keep your eye out – they may restock! Or if you want to try your luck, I’m giving away one of these sets in my Blogiversary Giveaway.  🙂

In addition to the items I’ve already picked up, there are several more that I have my eye on (as gifts for other people…and maybe for myself as well, lol).

holiday makeup gift ideas - Lorac, Butter London, Too Faced

Lorac The Royal Pro Eye Collection: I think this would make a lovely, lovely gift for friend or a stocking stuffer! At $28.00 USD – the price ain’t bad either!

Too Faced Beauty Wishes Sweet Kisses Set: I originally had this on my own wish list but I think I’m going to get it as a gift for one of my nieces. It’s perfect for any one who doesn’t own any of Too Faced’s most popular products. Retails for $34.00 USD.

Butter London Holiday Sets: Honestly, I’m eyeing this for myself. The holiday sets offer a better value and the colours in the Steampunk Ball collection look perfect for the season.

Lorac The Royal Lip Lustre Creme Set: This set has to be the deal of the century when it comes to Lorac products. You get six (6) FULL SIZES of the creme formula lip glosses for $25.00 USD. Usually, they retail for $15.00 USD a piece. Lorac says that these glosses are formulated with antioxidants of Acai Berry, Pomegranate, Grape Seed and Vitamins A, C & E.  The shades included in the set are: Tiara – Nude, Crown Jewel – Cherry Red, Debutante – exclusive Warm Pink, Your Highness – Hot Pink, English Rose – Pale Pink and Majestic – Mauve.

As Sephora no longer carries the brand and last time I checked ULTA was sold out of some of the holiday items, I purchased/am going to purchase the Lorac stuff from BeautyBar.com. In addition to U.S. shipping, they started offering international shipping some months ago – just look for the the “Ships Globally” indication in green text next to items that are eligible for that service. The site is able to read your IP address – sometimes if they can tell you’re visiting from outside of the U.S. they won’t display certain items. Don’t be discouraged – I just “uncheck” the ships globally option so that I can browse everything before filtering out those things that can be shipped. Also, they’re offering a great promotion right now: $15 off $75, $35 off $150, or $65 off $250; with the code BBCYBER14 (Available from 24th – 29th November, 2014).

Anyway, I hope you guys have found these Holiday Makeup Gift Ideas helpful and informative. Do you like the idea of these types of value sets as holiday gifts? Look out for Skincare, Bath & Body and more in the coming days!

  1. Wish we could get Lorac a bit easier here! I was tempted by the benefit blushes, it is such good value for money compared to buying one boxed blush – I may give in!! x

Hehe. It’s definitely a great value. It’s a bummer that more brands are not accessible to all of us. I haven’t opened the Benefit Blush set yet. Still debating. 🙂 xo

  2. I’m going to check out that site immediately!
Love the look of all these sets! I wouldn’t be able to choose if they were all available to me! Unfortunately most of them aren’t, and you know what? Benefit doesn’t sell the blush kit here… I really don’t know why, I would have bought it immediately! xx

What!? I can’t believe that Benefit isn’t offering the set in Italy. I know it’s in the. U. K. That blows. I’m glad that I was able to introduce you to Beauty Bar. I think it’s a great site. Let me know how it goes if you do check it out. I’ve had positive experiences and I hope you do as well. 🙂 xo

Lol. That’s how it goes, right? You’ve got me so intrigued about the Avon moisturizer. 🙂 let me know if you end up ended the Melted set and what you think. xo

  4. There is just something about beauty holiday sets! They’re simply ideal for all of us beauty lovers. That dark red colour of the Too Faced Melted Lipstick set looks soo pretty! You picked out some great goodies overall ;). Have you seen the Estee Lauder and Elisabeth Arden holiday set btw? They are massive and great value – and I always get one for my mother who is also a big beauty fan. She’ll be happy once again this Christmas 😉 x

No, I haven’t seen them! I’m going to google it right now. I’m actually frightened for my wallet…but of course, I will still give them a peak. Yes, holiday sets are candy for us beauty bloggers. Have you see that Charlotte Tilbury mini lipstick trio? I’m so tempted to order online even though I’m not able to visit a counter. Thank you for brining the Estée Lauder and Elizabeth Arden sets to my attention. xo
