On Wednesday, my series of reviews of the Italian beauty products sent to me by Gyudy in our swap began with a look at theKiko Cosmetics’ Generation Next collection. Today, that adventure continues with more Milano-based makeup products, this time from PUPA cosmetics. PUPA specialises in make-up, treatment products for the face and body, bath and after bath products, fragrances, and creative beauty kits. It is sold mostly in Europe in pharmacies/drugstores as well as online. Again, the brand is completely new to me so I was excited to see what they have to offer:
The company says that the “PUPA woman is perfectly aware, she can choose, she’s passionate and free, but loyal at the same time. She knows what she wants, and she knows how she wants to feel.. beautiful, first of all for herself.” I like the sound of that! 🙂
First up we have the Miss Pupa Long Lasting Matt Lipstick in 303 Flashy Coral. PUPA says that this new creamy and ultra comfortable formula coats the lips with a matte and velvety finish, for a flawless and long-lasting result.
Flashy Coral is a gorgeous bright pink-based coral that I’ll be loving this Summer. The finish is more satin (or velvet as the name suggests) than matte. While it is not nearly as flat or drying as some other matte formulas I’ve tried, if your lips are really dry or flaky, it may accentuate that condition. However, it does wear comfortable and fade evenly, which is always nice. Wear time is in the 4+ hour range (with no eating).
Next up, we have the Pupa Multi Play Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in 08 Basic Brun. It promises intense color and a long-lasting texture that glides on smoothly. The pencils are referred to as “multi-play” as they offer the option of creating a precise and defined line or blending out to create an eyeshadow effect using the built-in smudger.
Basic Brun is actually quite a unique colour. It is a grey, taupe-brown with subtle shimmer that almost creates a duo-chrome effect. I don’t have a shade like it in my collection (though I don’t have that many eyeliners) and I find it to be very flattering as an eyeliner on brown eyes. I haven’t tried using it as an eyeshadow. As promised the texture of the pencil is smooth and buttery, making it easy to apply. Lasting power is great (8+ hours) and it’s also pretty water-resistant formula. It takes some doing for me to remove the product at the end of the day.
Overall, I’m quite impressed with what I’ve tried. Now, I just wish I had regular access to the brand! Lol. Have you ever tried anything from PUPA?
