June Favorites: Mostly Makeup…

Apart from my social media favorites, June Favorites is all about makeup. The month of May bleeds in a bit as I didn’t have a favorites post last month on account of the Blogiversary celebrations. Let’s get into it, shall we?

June Favorites

Although I’ve recently discovered some new bases that I’m absolutely head over heels for, last month I also revisited some oldies but goodies. With the warm (or in my case hot & humid) weather upon us, I resurrected my beloved Kat Von D Lock It Powder foundation (a Summer staple that I reviewed last year). Coming back to my collection after a very long hiatus was the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – a fantastic drugstore gem!

June Favorites Bases

June has been all about cream eye shadows.  I’ve had even less time than usual in the mornings, therefore, easy and convenient is the name of the game. I recently posted a quick look using the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks and reviewed the Chanel Stylo in Laurier Rose, which I’ve been reaching for almost every other day. My Maybelline Color Tattoos have also come in handy, with my love for Caramel Cool having been rekindled (unfortunately, I believe this shade was LE).

For color, I’ve stuck to an old favorite, Illamasqua’s Lover, and a newish one, the Dior Tie Dye Blush in Pink Sunrise (reviewed here).

And finally, for lips, one product has stood out above all: my Bobbi Brown Lip Balm. I quickly became obsessed with this product for keeping my lips feeling plump and hydrated. You may have seen on Instagram that I purchased two, so I’m never without it! 🙂

  1. The packaging on that Kat Von D foundation is to die for – and it seems like such a good pick for summer! I just picked up the Maybelline color tattoo eyeshadow as well – it seems I’ve made a good choice. Although I picked it up in a rose gold color. && that peachy blush is absolutely gorgeous!

    1. KVD does do a fantastic job with her packaging, no doubt about that. I really enjoy this powder during the Summer (as well as her liquid foundation). Ooh, I’m about to Google that Rose Gold Color Tattoo right now – do you remember the name? xo

  2. I’d love to try those Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks. Some great picks here! xx

    1. The Caviar Sticks are definitely splurge worthy my friend! Love ’em. 🙂

  3. Look at all the purty colors! Great choices, Kimmy!

    1. Thanks, Melissa! xo

  4. I’ve never seen that Bobbi Brown lip balm around! Such cute packaging 😉

Love, Charline | Charline Has a Blog

    1. I’d never really heard of it/seen it around either but I tried it in store last month or something and was blown away. It’s true love! 🙂 xo

  5. Aww, thank you Kimmy! That’s so kind of you! I totally didn’t expect to see my face on your post, haha! Love the look of that Dior blush but I don’t think I could spend so much money on a blush, even this pretty, haha! x

    1. You’re welcome sweetie. Hope you’re having a fantastic day and upcoming weekend too! xo

  6. The Dior blush looks incredible! I love Caramel Cool too – very pleased I managed to get my hands on it! xx

    1. Caramel Cool is so beautiful. Happy we both grabbed it! I’m keeping my fingers crossed it stays as long as possible and doesn’t dry out!

  7. Love Illamasqua Lover! 😀
I want to get my hands on more of the Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks – I have 2 and I want them ALL!
Question: have you ever tried the Nars Creamy concealer? If so, how does it compare to Maybelline Fit Me? (I have Maybelline Fit Me and was not wow’d but I am thinking of getting the Nars – would be interested in your opinion!)

    1. Which two LM Caviar Sticks do you have, hun? I got the holiday set of 4 which included RoseGold, Amethyst, Cocoa and Moonlight – I want to get my hands on Khaki eventually and maybe some others. You know…I tried a sample of the NARS Creamy concealer a long time ago and can’t quite remember exactly how it performed. But I’ve been hearing for years that the two formulas are very similar. Should we put it to the test? 🙂 xo

      1. I have the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Plum and Pink Opal. I think they were limited edition shades. I definitely want to get Amethyst!
Yes, you should put them to the test! Slurge or save! 😀

        1. I’ll take that under advisement, hehe. xo

  8. So many gorgeous favourites here, the Dior blush is just beautiful and the Laura Mercier sticks sound fantastic. Oh and I love Dagmara & Shireen’s blogs (and of course the actual girls behind the blogs), they’re great x

    Beauty with charm

    1. They are some great girls! Girl, I’m on a total shadow stick kick – and eyeing the new collections like a hawk. It’s so bad. :/

  9. Nice picks, Kimmy! I’ve been using a lot of cream shadows lately, too. My go-to ones are also Laura Mercier Caviar Stick! I also just bought a new lip balm stick by Bobbi Brown and can’t wait to put it to a test! I hope it will be a love! 😀

    1. Ooh, let us know how you get on with the BB lip balm stick for sure! I need to explore her brand a little more I think. We actually have a decent counter here and I almost never shop them. Though the new stuff does take forever to get here. :/

Lovely favourites Kimmy! I’ve had such a long break from trying out and experimenting with my make up.. I can feel the butterflies again to start writing new content and try out more make up! The Dior blush looks so beautiful, but I’m really not reaching much for a blush nowadays since I always have some colour show through my base. But the powder ones seem very interesting.. must try it out!

    1. Thank you, my friend. Can’t wait to see what you come up with as you feel the inspiration again. 🙂 ARe you on Summer break yet? xo

Yes, summer break has started! Although I start student job tomorrow.. 😉 Hehe! Gotta keep busy!

  10. I am SO with you on cream shadows! I don’t think I’ve worn anything else for a while now 🙂 I like Coral Sunset more, but Pink Sunrise for sure isn’t bad!

    1. Right? Cream shadows are life right now. I really did like the look of Coral Sunset as well when I swatched it in store way back when…but there could only be one, lol. xo

  11. The Dior tye dye compact is beautiful, if anything makes me buy into a product first is the appearance and dior always kills it with their beautiful packaging and the LM Caviar sticks are a huge fave of mine too 😀

    Serene | I Am Serene L

    1. Dior does do packaging very well, right up there with Chanel. But I actually think Dior stuff feels more luxurious as the compacts tend to be heavier. I do wish LM would come out with kits of her Caviar Sticks year round. 🙂

  12. I love cream/stick eyeshadow to base with powder ones. It adds such interesting depths and dimension.
Everything you picked seems a beautiful essential here. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Lena. I definitely enjoy the cream shadows as a based but love that they can work so well on their own as well. I’m still thinking of that Rouge Bunny Rouge lipstick you featured! 🙂

  13. Awww thank you, Kimmy! That’s so sweet of you! I saw my face and I was confused for a moment. I was like did I click the right link? Where am I? Hahaha! 🙂

Looks like you got a nice list of favorites. I really need to add Lover to my collection. She’s a beauty!

    1. Hehe. Nope, not a mistake! Lover is a beauty and I like having her in my collection. 🙂 Hope you have a fantastic weekend, sweetie. xo

  14. I love wearing cream shadows as well on summer. I feel like all brand are coming out with cream shadow sticks. I want them all 😀

    Pink Frenzy

    1. I know what you mean, I’ve been drooling over some of the new shadow stick releases!
