Skincare Sunday: Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector

The Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector has been a popular serum choice with a loyal cult following for many years. I’d tried packet samples of the serum here or there but hadn’t actually tested the product for any significant length of time. Given that it claims not only to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and pores but also to improve skin’s texture (which is a concern of mine), I decided to give it a fair run with a deluxe sample that lasted me about 3 weeks.

Lancome’s Visionnaire promises visible results for beautiful skin in real-time. In fact, they claim that after one application, skin will feel smoother and softer and in as little as three days, skin texture is refined and pores are less visible. Finally, after four weeks, wrinkles, pores, and skin texture will be visibly corrected. Those are some major claims.

As regular readers may know, my oily combo skin is prone to breakouts and can be slightly reactive. This serum is scented and fragranced, which doesn’t bother me so much, but beware if you are sensitive to smells in your skincare regimen. I’d definitely recommend trying a sample first. 🙂

The whitish, clear liquid applies clear to the skin and absorbs well, though not as quickly as some other serums I’ve tried.

Immediately following application, I did notice that my skin looked and felt very smooth. In my estimation, this is likely due to ingredients such as the silicone (acting as a primer) and mica which illuminates the skin.

Over the course of three weeks, however, I didn’t notice much in the way of wrinkle reduction or texture improvement. The somewhat large pores on my upper cheek area were also unaffected – i.e. there was no permanent difference when my face was bare. I should also add that while some people have said this serum helped them with acne breakouts, this wasn’t the case for me.

Although while using the Lancome Visionnaire, my skin definitely sported a healthy glow and makeup applied beautifully, my actual skin condition pretty much stayed the same. Perhaps 3 weeks wasn’t long enough to see the promised reaults but given my experience, it is unlikely I’ll purchase a full size. The Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Skin Corrector retails for $79.00 USD/£60.00.

  1. You’d hope to see more improvement in the 3 weeks for the price of the product! I’ve been tempted by this a number of times, but never bought it. Have you tried Clinique Smart Serum? I really like that! xx

    1. I’m acually testing out the Clinique Smart Serum right now! So far so good but I’ll probably have a mini review up soon. 🙂

  2. Its s shame it didn’t approve your skin. I was thinking to pick it up because of my pores, but I think I’ll pass.

    1. It did make me really sad that this serum didn’t work better – I feel like the effects are temporary and it works almost like a primer would rather than a skincare product for long term benefits. 🙁
