You are all probably inundated with March Favorites posts at this point, but allow me to add mine to the fray. 🙂 I really enjoy monthly favorites – do you? It really helps me to see what products are worth looking into based on what fellow beauty junkies have decided to narrow down as their “stars” of the month.
NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadow Palette: You can check out my full review with eye looks here, but, in summary, I love this palette. While it may not the best for versatility, though you can certainly get quite a few different looks out of it, the formula really wins me over. Not all wet/dry formulas transition well but I can use these both wet and dry in the same sitting with great results.
*L’Occitane Immortelle Eye Balm: The star of my the recent roundup of the L’Occitane Immortelle line, I like this eye cream almost as much as the Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm which is my all time favorite. Though not quite as lighthweight as the Algenst, it is on par hydration wise. It does have a faint herbal-floral scent, from the oils that are used, which can be a deal breaker for some, but it does not irritate my eye area.
*Cargo ‘Swimmables’ Water Resistant Blush in Bali: A lovely, shimmery pink that I talked about in more detail in my Cargo Brand Spotlight. A very long lasting one as well. In that post, someone asked me if it is indeed water resistant. Sorry, I haven’t jumped into the ocean with it on or anything – but it does survive very sweaty days completely in tact. 🙂
Kudos goes to Sunny of Mostly Sunny for inspiring this photo with her #TulipTuesdays posts!
These eyeliners by MAC Cosmetics deserve a special attention because I’ve been besotted with green lately. A pop of colour on the lower lash line is always a great look, and liners are the easiest, quickest way to achieve this.
If I’m feeling adventurous, I go for the Pearlglide Intense in Undercurrent, a teal with gold and blue shimmer. I raved about this beauty and featured it on my lower lash line on Instagram. Water Willow, a khaki green, and Forrest Green, a matte olive, are reserved for my more tame days. All three stay on the lower lash line/water line pretty well. After my experience with Undercurrent, however, I must say I am most impressed with the pearlglide formula. I feel I need them all now. Lol.
Social Media Favorites – Blogs
Alina – Beauty with Charm: I appreciate Alina’s realistic approach to beauty shopping. I could learn a thing of two. 🙂 Her enthusiasm for makeup, skincare, and life in general really comes across in her posts in the most delightful way and I’m happy to have discovered her blog. I use the term “discover” lightly because she’s been around longer than I have and has accomplished so much with her space!
Ingrid – Nentas Frivolity: I’ve been following Ingrid’s blog for a while now and am always drawn in my her amazing eye looks. I’ve recently discovered that is she also something of a garden goddess. Her green thumb makes me feel like I should go out and grow something!
Jasmine – Magpie Jasmine: Several weeks ago, I read a post that Jasmine had published on role models that really impressed me. I found out later, from reading her profile that she studied Philosophy and Theology, which helps explain things. 🙂 Of course, she also does beautiful beauty posts which I’ve been enjoying for some time.
Karen – Style Sunrise: I don’t know how I’ve managed to forget Karen as I’ve been lurking around her blog almost as long as I’ve been blogging! Others have pointed this out, but I do adore her mix of beauty, fashion and home decor posts. I also really enjoy the “true to life” style and feel to her blog, which is refreshing is this world of glossy magazines. 🙂
