Today, I’m so excited to share with you guys my first swap experience with my dear friend, the lovely Silke of Laura London Blog! She is one of my first blogging buddies and I could not be happier to have done my first swap with her.
We both agreed on a budget and gave each other some general ideas of what we were interested in (in terms of brands) but did not have specific product parameters. Silke is in Belgium/U.K. and I’m in The Bahamas (close to the U.S.) so we basically looked for brands that the other didn’t have easy access to.
Originally, we hadn’t said anything about when we would open our swap boxes but I managed to hold out until Christmas morning. 🙂
Here’s what my package look liked, isn’t it adorable?
Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Peach Club – This a really interesting formula. It’s wet but immediately dries down to a matte finish within a few seconds of application. I haven’t worn it for 24 hours – but it held its full colour until I removed it with makeup remover about 3 hours later. Also, it was not as drying as I expected.
Sleek Storm Palette – I first became aware of this palette while reading some blog reviews a few months ago and had commented on how lovely I thought it looked. I’ve never tried anything from Sleek and was thrilled to see this product included. I’ve already used it, of course, and have to say that the quality of the shadows when you consider the price of this palette is truly impressive.
Sleek Blush in Rose Gold – Reminds me of NARS Orgasm (I’m sure many have already made that observation). I haven’t worn it yet but I imagine it to be stunning for a look that is suitable year round!
Soap and Glory Solar Powder Bronzer – Gorgeous. Has the look and feel of Too Faced’s Sun Bunny – same sort of Bronzer/Highlight duo. The shimmery pinky-white overspray (over the letters SG) wears off after the first use. One side of the Bronzer is more matte, while the other has a shimmer/sheen to it. This will be perfect for the Summer!
Thank you, Silke, for introducing me to these wonderful products! I think it’s safe to say that my first swap experience was awesome! Have you guys participated in beauty swaps? Please share your experiences below.
