What’s New in June & Shopping My Stash

Hello, Beauties and welcome to June! After wrapping up the Blogiversary celebrations this weekend, this new month brings some small changes to Beauty Isles. I’d mentioned in Sunday’s post (on How I feel About Blogging After One Year) that starting in June I would reduce my post schedule to three times a week so that I can focus more on the quality of my posts as well as increasing my social media engagement. In addition to changes to my schedule, I also want to experiment with the types of posts I feature…

Shopping My Stash

One of the themes this Summer will be “shopping my stash”. I have so many lovely things in my collection which sometimes get overlooked in the mad dash to try new products. I want to talk about those things a little more and share with you guys how much I love and use on them a regular basis.

Another thing I want to focus on is eye looks. In particularly, using products from my collection that I may have mentioned on the Blog (in a haul or something) but haven’t talked about it any great detail. Usually when I feature anything on the eyes, it’s in the context of a review. And sometimes, as I’m just trying to highlight whatever product I happen to be talking about, those looks don’t necessarily reflect the way I’d wear the product on a regular basis. Therefore, I hope to share more posts on what eye looks I actually wear in my daily life. Additionally, trying to keep up with my previous posting schedule sometimes meant I couldn’t take as much time with photographing my eye looks. I’m hoping to now have more time to focus on capturing better images.

So to recap, this Summer I’m experimenting with: a reduced posting schedule of 3x/week, more eye looks and shopping my stash! This doesn’t mean, of course, that I won’t be reviewing new products (in fact, I have a few in mind) or continuing with my series (look out for new Travel Exclusive Tuesdays to come next month).

Hope you all have a wonderful June!

I’m already excited for your summer schedule! I love eye looks and the shop my stash idea is great too 🙂
3 times a week is still super great (better than me in fact).

Thank you, Ella. I think its more mangeable this way for me. Especially as I have some personal things happening in my life as well during these next few months. I don’t want blogging to be stressful for me, but fun as it should be. 🙂 xo

Sounds like you have some great post liing up for Summer, Kimmy and I totally get what you mean about overlooking some of the great products because we have too many. I have been thinking of doing that too and haven’t been shopping much for new makeup for more than two months. I only bought one lipstick I think and yet I still have so many products that are waiting to be reviewed.

I appreciate your support, Shireen. I did have a small haul recently (confession) but I was travelling and had planned to purchase those things anyway (mostly practical). But I’ve been loving going back to my collection to rediscover the wonderful products I’m lucky enough to own. 🙂 xo

A great idea! It reminds me I should take a look some of my older products too 😀 Can’t wait to read your new posts x

How are you, Laura? Yes, you definitely should. You always talk about such great products on your blog…you have a lovely collection! xo

Shopping my stash is my motto! It’s really fun to rediscover so many amazing products right in our own collection. Looking forward to seeing your eye looks as well. 🙂

I know! I’m having a great time revisiting old favorites! Thank you, sweetie. xo

I love your ideas! Especially the shop my stash. I’ve actually been doing something similar lately. I have so many items (older items) that I haven’t even blogged or worn! I know it’s stuff people have probably seen like a million times by now, but hey what’s one more review? 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Thank you, my dear. I know what you mean as far as talking about products that are really popoular. But I’m sure your readers would love to hear your thoughts on those products, even if someone else has blogged about them before. I know I would. 🙂 xo

So true, Jasmine. In fact, it’s great for me to see what I have lurking in my collection. Hehe. xo

I’m excited for the eye shadow looks. Also, my eye went right to the Tarina Tarantino compact. What is it? I have one of her eye palettes and it’s really nice. 🙂

    1. Kimmy

Hiya Natalie. Sorry for the late reply, trying to catch up. 🙂 The Tarantino compact is the Jewel Shadow Palette in Magical. It’s not available at Sephora anymore (where I originally purchased it) but you can find it on her website (http://tarinatarantino.com/). 🙂 Take care, sweetie. xo

Posting 3 times a week sounds healthy to me. I really should try to reduce my posting so I actually have more time to enjoy real life. LOL

Featuring eye looks that you actually wear in daily life is also a great idea! I know I get crazy sometimes for the blog but mostly in my daily life I wear very simple eyes. 🙂

    1. Kimmy

That’s the danger with blogging, sometimes, isn’t it? We can let it take over a little bit. Not that I don’t love it – of course I do, but I’m trying to make sure I still have some time for myself. 🙂 xo

I’m looking forward to seeing your eye looks!

    1. Kimmy

Thank you, Ingrid. There’s no way I complete with you though – your looks are stunning, always! xo
