October Empties Pt. 1 (Travel Edition)

Welcome to October Empties Part One! I decided to split my empties into two posts this month. I traveled recently and managed to finish up several of the deluxe sample size products I keep in my travel bag. It was such a major accomplishment that I took pictures of them in the hotel before throwing them out in the trash (come on now, people, I wasn’t toting my garbage home with me).

Anyway, since some of the products were really great, I thought I’d share the usual minireviews. As always, a (Y) is “Yes” I will re-purchase, and (M) is “Maybe” and an (N) is “No”.

October Empties Pt 1 Travel Edition

Oribe Signature Collection Shampoo and Moisture Mask (M): Single packets of shampoo and conditioner usually don’t tell me much about how much I’ll like the brand or product. These were nice but Oribe is expensive, so I dunno?

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 (Y/M): I’ve never had to purchase a full size of the Fresh Sugar Lip Balms, which makes me spoilt. They are so nice but so spendy.

Clarins Hydra Matte Lotion (N): Just OK. You can check out my full review, including other Clarins products in my Brand Spotlight post here.

Sephora Cotton Pads (Y): Decent cotton pads (that stay together nicely). I’ll probably ended up purchasing this again at some point – the size is great for travel.

*Ole Henriksen Nurture Me Cleansing Cloths (Y): Really like these. I don’t usually carry full sizes of skincare with me when travelling but there were about three left in the package so used them up (obviously) on my trip. You can check out my full review here.

Urban Decay B6 Spray (N): This is one of those “I don’t get it products”. It’s not a setting spray as such, but used to prep your skin prior to makeup application. It is suppose to contain vitamins and other ingredients that are good for your skin. I really didn’t notice anything and was glad to finish it.

October Empties Pt 1 Travel Edition 2

*Purity Made Simple Gel Cleanser (Y): This is gel version of the original Purity Cleanser and I think I prefer this one. For those of you who like the idea of the Purity cleanser, but one a little more “foaming” action – check this gel option out!

Bath and Body Works Mad About You (Travel Size) (Y): Love these for travel and always have one in my travel bag.

Jo Malone Sample (“Dark Amber and Ginger Lily”) (Y): This is beautiful warm but fresh scent. I’ll probably get the full size at some point.

The mother load of empties post will up on Friday. 🙂 What are some of your beauty empties this month?

Finishing up a Chubby Stick is pretty impressive. Lip products are always the hardest to get through (oh and eye shadows). 🙂 xo

  2. Yaay empties! That’s a lot of empties! I’ve been wanting to try Oribe, but more their sprays than their shampoo/conditioner. I feel I’ve got those covered 🙂

There was an Oribe hair spray or something like that which I’d heard about way back and wanted to try but can’t remember now what exactly it was? lol. xo

So true! Skincare is always something I’m sure to use up quickly. 🙂

  3. I love using up samples on holiday! I’m always so intrigued by your “Ys” or “Ms”! 😉 I need to have a closer look at Jo Malone 🙂 xx

Hehe. Thanks, hun. Jo Malone (one of) my weaknesses – the only thing is that sometimes they don’t linger as long as I’d like. xx

  4. Love how you add the Y/M/N! I would love to try the Purity cleanser myself! Great empties!

Thank you, Julie. I thought it might be helpful. After all, sometimes we just don’t end up repurchasing stuff. The cleanser is a good one, I really do like it better than the original. 🙂

I also use my samples when I travel. Oribe is a bit of a miss with me – I have a beachy wave spray and dry shampoo – meh? (I actually bought full size products based on reviews). I think Fresh products (though good) are waaaay overpriced. I do love my Purity Made Simple. I am currently using the Cleansing Oil. I have a hefty sample of the regular cleanser in my travel bag. I love all of your reviews Kimmy!

Thank you for your lovely comment, Karen. I feel you on Fresh prices. That being said, I do have a review of some of the products from the line coming in a couple of weeks, lol. :/ The sugar lip balms are really ridiculous, though. But I have to admit there are a few standouts from the brand that I splurge on (one in particularly that I know I can find cheaper). I’ve been meaning to try the Purity Cleansing Oil since the first time you mentioned it. 🙂 xo

  5. I always bring my empty samples back with me 😀 I love the bath & body works Mad About You body lotion! It smells so good! xo’s
