Bareminerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lip Colors | Boss, Infamous, & Slay

Yes, I got sucked in by the hype. When Bareminerals launched their massive Gen Nude collection consisting of 60 lip products in various finishes, nude lovers rejoiced. And when they kindly shared much of the collection with some of the bigger bloggers & vloggers, it created plenty of buzz around the release. Enough buzz to get me to purchase a couple of the Bareminerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolors anyway. Having hit retail stores back in June/July, I’ve actually had mine for quite some time and am only now getting around to my review. Too many new things. So, how have I gotten on with them?

Lipstick Shades of Grey…For the Modest or the Daring

For the past few years, I’ve noticed that grey lipstick has been growing in popularity. Do you all remember when MAC released “Grey Friday” and put the formerly fringe lip color on the map? And then last year (or maybe longer) when “greige” (grey + beige) lips became a major thing? Grey has gone from being unconventional to almost mainstream. For me, whether a hint or a full serving, grey lipstick gives me the option of a little edge without (hopefully) looking like I’m trying to re-live my goth/grunge years. If you didn’t already know this about me, I was a teenager in the 90’s. Moving on. Grey is usually a tone I think of for the Autumn and Winter seasons. As we embrace the arrival of Fall, therefore, I thought it might be fun to share with you guys some of the “grey lipsticks” in my collection.

YSL Dangerous Seduction Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Before we get back to the lipsticks (because there are more), let’s take a look at another limited edition YSL palette, shall we? Just one more (for now), I promise. Almost every year at this time (pre-holiday/Autumn) Yves Saint Laurent Beauty releases two additional limited edition Couture palettes that are separate from their Holiday and Fall collections. These releases are usual exclusive to select Department stores. A few days ago, I reviewed one such release, the Mon Paris palette which is available at Nordstrom and John Lewis. Today we’re taking a look at the YSL Dangerous Seduction Couture Eyeshadow Palette (or YSL Danger Seduction) which is a Neiman Marcus (also possibly Harrods) exclusive.

YSL Mon Paris Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Let’s take a break from the lipsticks, shall we? How about we talk about something that I’m always game for? A YSL palette! At this point, let’s all assume that when it coes to Yves Saint Laurent Beauty, if there is a new Couture Eyeshadow palette being released…I’m gonna pick it up. I have no shame. Sorry not sorry. The latest edition to my collection? The limited edition YSL Mon Paris Couture Eyeshadow Palette.

Le Metier de Beaute Hydra Creme Lipstick Morocco Review & Swatches

This was a bit of a random purchase for me. Le Metier de Beaute (Métier de Beauté) is not a brand I hear a whole lot about. Perhaps it’s because, in addition to being relatively new to the luxury beauty scene (founded in 2007), they are not as widely available at other luxury brands. A couple of months ago, I was browsing the Neiman Marcus website, one of the few stockists of the brand, and looked into some of the products. Curiosity got me to order something to try…the Le Metier de Beaute Hydra-Creme Lipstick in Morocco. Fast forward to August and I’d completely forgotten about the poor thing, having stuffed it in a drawer somewhere. With Fall/Autumn around the corner, however, it came to mind when transitioning some of lip colors for the season.
