Personal Update and New Schedule

Hey guys. A bit of a different post today. A personal update, if you will. There will be some scheduling changes on the Blog in the coming months, changes that may end up being permanent and I wanted to share with you guys why. For any of you who’ve been here a while, you will know that I keep certain personal things removed from the Blog. That doesn’t mean that I don’t share personal insights or that I don’t try to inject my personality into my posts. I guess, what I’m trying to say is that, at the end of the day, I mainly talk about beauty. But when I’m writing, even about lipstick, it’s me on the page. So with a huge life event unfolding, and because I’m not about editing myself…here goes: I’M GOING TO BE A MOMMY!

Personal Update My Mommy Years

This will be our (Mr. Bear and I) first child. Right now I’m at about 39 weeks. Yep. It’s crazy but so exciting I can’t even put into words. As you can imagine, I’ve been quite busy which is one of the reasons, as some of you may have noticed, that I’ve been less active on social media and such. Up until this week, I was still working full time…not to mention that a few months ago I had to take on additional responsibilities at work. Yeah. But I’ve now taken my leave to rest as much as I can in anticipation of the little ones arrival.

Despite being off work, I will be even more busy over the next few months…or the rest of my life, really. Lol. But especially in the immediate future. As such, I’ve decided on a few things. First, I’m going to reduce the my posting schedule here on Beauty Isles to twice a week: Wednesdays and Fridays. Second, starting today, I’m taking a two week “blog vacation”. This means there will be no new posts on Beauty Isles until around the 11th of November.

Finally, the biggest decision of them all (in terms of blogging) is that I’ve decided to document some of my experiences as a first time mother on a new blog that I’m launching: My Mommy Years. It’s all really new and I’m not 100% sure what direction I’m going to take with it, but if you interested, you can check out my first post today! As of now (notwithstanding the fact that life doesn’t always allow you plan for everything), I will be posting on My Mommy Years once a week on Mondays. So if you miss me that much, lol, you can find me there during the upcoming beauty blog break.

Thank you all for your support and I hope you guys have a fabulous next few weeks!

But please don’t plan too much. I launched my blog when my daughter was six months already and to be honest, I couldn’t have done it any sooner. The first three months will be completely consumed by the little one, and the last thing you need is the pressure to post. Opt for a relaxed schedule and enjoy the time with your little one. It goes by so quickly, and not all babies sleep a lot. My daughter slept two hours during the day at most!
