Five Products I’ve Repurchased Lately

Before I started blogging, I’d often read other bloggers review or rave about a product, rarely to mention it again. Now that I am a blogger myself, I understand why that happens. There are just so many things we want to talk about! So many things to try and get excited about. That’s why I always appreciate favorites, because it’s a chance to highlight products shown in hauls and/or to shine the spotlight on previously reviewed products in order to emphasize how great they really are. Another way to do this, is to talk about re-hauled products. That’s the topic of today’s post. Products that I’ve repurchased lately…because they are that good!

Products I've Repurchased Lately

Products I've Repurchased Lately

First up, we have the Kat Von D Lock ‘N Load Makeup Setting Mist (full review). My Holy Grail Setting Spray. This is one for us oily or oily-combo skinned beauties, especially if you live in a warmer climate. Helps the makeup stick around in sweaty siuations. On average, when I use this, I get at least 3 hours extra wear out of my makeup. I’ve repurchased many, many times.

A more recent discovery, is the Belli Skincare Acne Control Spot Treatment (full review). The first bottle of this stuff, I’d received from the company for trial. But I was so impressed, that once I ran out, I purchased a second bottle with my own money. The active ingredient is colloidal sulfur, a safe and effective alternative to those looking to avoid salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide based products.

My beloved Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Foundation (full review), I’ve spoken of my affection for her more than once on this Blog. Although the NARS Luminious foundation became a fast favorite, Chanel’s Velvet will always have prime real estate in my heart. I think it is best for normal to combo and oily skin types, offering a satin-matte finish and what I like to describe as a “luminosity to the complexion that is ethereal in effect rather than a dewy or shiny”.

Products I've Repurchased Lately

I’ve not featured the Body Shop’s Tea Tree Oil Toner on the Blog before but I did share with you guys on Instagram the Tea Tree Oil kit I scored at ULTA for a great deal, which included the toner.  I ran out of it very quickly, so, of course, I had to pick up a new one! It’s strong stuff – so sensitive skin types beware!

Finally, we have something that Mr. Bear absolutely loves. If you’ve been around for a while, you’ve probably seen countless *C.O. Bigelow White Elixir products featured in my empties. With citrus notes of Bergamot, Grapefruit and Mandarin and undertones of peppery Wood Spices – the White Elixir lotion is one of the yummiest scents I’ve ever encountered. Makes him smell so good!

  1. Ok, now I need to try the Chanel foundation 🙂 x

    Mummy’s Beauty Corner

    1. Hehe. I really, really love it. But not good for dry skin at all. 🙂

  2. I tried that foundation (thank gawd it was a sample) and it was absolutely horrid on my face! I have dry skin and yes, the SA told me that it wouldn’t looked good on me but I insisted to try a sample. I bought the Aqua version and that is one of my favourite to use. I stayed away from the Tea Tree range because it’s for oily skin, I think and my skin is dry enough as it is.

    1. Yeah, I’ve found with the Velvet that if I happen to be having an unusual dry spell, it doesn’t look as good. So definitely not for drier skin types. I’ve not tried the Aqua version, actually.

  3. I haven’t tried any of these, but if I do, I’m sure the body shop’s tea tree toner will be the first one I’m going to try. I love products with tea tree for my skin. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Kimmy!

    1. Really enjoying the Body Shop Tea Tree line, let me know what you think if you do try it, sweetie. x

  4. So good to know what’s worth repurchasing! I can definitely appreciate that even before I was blogging, even if I had found HG status, I still tried new things… just because it’s human nature to see if there’s better “out there”.
How would you compare Chanel vs Nars? I’m interested in the Nars but not so much the Chanel… but since you repurchased it, maybe I should give it a second look.
Hmm that C.O. Bigelow White Elixir sounds divine! Where do you purchase this?

    1. You can get the C.O. Bigelow from the website or at Bath & Body Works. 🙂 The Chanel Velvet has more of a matte finish, I think and it has a very slight, slight powder finish as well whereas the NARS does not. With the Velvet, the skin looks like its in “soft lighting” whereas with the NARS Luminous, it looks more radiant but not in a dewy way either. That description was so confusing. I hope it helps.

      1. I’ll have to check BBW to see if they carry this item / scent!
Thanks for the explanation of the Chanel vs Nars – yes, it was helpful! 🙂

I enjoy Ahava as well, though I haven’t shopped the brand in a really, really long time. What are your top recommendations?

  7. I have only tried the Body Shop toner from these product and love the scent of it. I’m not sure why I didn’t buy it again….I added the setting spray in my wish list. I’m always looking for new and better one. At the moment I’m using one from Makeup Revolution x

I haven’t tried the Makeup Revolution spray…I should do soon so I can really compare 🙂

  8. Your so brilliant Kimmy.
I have heard so many good things about a lot of the Kat Von D range I should try harder to see if I can source some (damn Australia).

KVD really makes some great stuff – wish she was more widely available. I actually ship many of these things but duty can be a B**ch. 🙂

  9. Repurchasing something really makes a good sign! I have repurchased Cetaphil facial cleanser countless times, it’s so great.

That’s a good one, haven’t used the Cetaphil cleanser in a really long time.
