I’m quite late to the party when it comes to the Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquers but I often have a hard time getting my hands on “drugstore” brands here (especially the newer stuff). So when shopping in ULTA while stateside a few weeks back, I made sure to pick up a few items of interest including this lip gloss/lipstick hybrid.
Revlon says: Lip lacquer goes HD with our innovative wax-free gel technology. Get true color clarity, vivid high-impact shine and a bouncy, lightweight feel. Available in 15 high-definition shades.
The Lip Lacquers are packaged in a clear tube featuring a brush style applicator and faux “diamond” detail on the cap.
The shade I choose, Rose Quartz, is an interesting warm, rosy-red with pink-copper shimmer. It also features a metallic finish that, when catching the light, makes the shade quite multidimensional. The lacquer has a thick-ish, tacky texture but applies very smoothly (you don’t feel any grit or glitter particles) leaving behind a high-shine. Wear time is about 3-4 hours without eating. It did not stain the lips.
Rose Quartz is a very pretty shade, but I have to be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of this product. I think it’s the applicator. Brush style applicators are not my favorite. And the formula of the lip lacquer, I think, would be better served with something like a doe foot – making it easier to spread the thick formula.
