Sephora Favorites Meet Your Match

Sephora regularly comes out with some great value kits and the Sephora Favorites Meet Your Match (limited edition) is no exception. This little itty bitty guy is a lip and nail set that features coordinating products from some great brands.

Here’s a breakdown of whats included and my thoughts on each:

Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Girls Just Want to Have Fun (0.27 oz): This is a fun coral nail colour for the spring/summer and would have been my favourite in the set, had it not been for the poor pigmentation. It took three coats to achieve a somewhat decent opacity and even then my nail showed through.

Nails Inc. Devonshire Row Nail Polish (0.13 oz): This purple berry polish was the most impressive of the nail polish formulas. One coat you guys, one coat and it was pretty opaque.

Formula X Nail Color in Invincible (0.17 oz): One of the best nude polishes I’ve ever come across for my skin tone (NC 25). It was fully opaque after two coats but you could get away with one. I am in love with this and Formula X formulation, generally, has really impressed me.

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Tint in Elite (0.06 oz): I’ve never been into the Tarte Lipsurgences – there are drugstore versions of these that I like better (Revlon, Covergirl). They do have a nice minty smell and are pretty much fuss free, adding a touch of colour, in this case a pinky-coral, to the lips basically like a balm. Also, I may have gotten a dud (and it is really hot here), but I wanted to let you guys know that the tip of this smushed and crumbled the first time I applied it my lips. It’s still usable though.

Bite Beauty Lush Fruit Lip Gloss in Strangefruit (0.05 oz): Sigh. Why, Bite Beauty? Why? Why are you so brilliant. First off, the “cons”, this gloss is a little sticky. Not as sticky as a MAC lip glass (everyone’s frame of reference) but a consideration for those who don’t like any feeling of stickiness on the lips. I don’t mind a bit of stickiness and love the opacity and wear of this gloss.

Hourglass Cosmetics Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss in Child (0.03 oz): This is a decent nude, I like it paired over a nudey pink or peach lipstick but wouldn’t wear it on its own. Also, I don’t know if this nude would suit anyone over an NC 40 unless using it as a “topper” to tone down another colour.

This set is a great value at $25.00 and is still available (as of this post). If you’re interested I would grab one before it sells out. Bear in mind the sizes are very small. I note this because some people who ordered online were surprised by the sizes when they opened their package.

Any other great value sets you guys think I should get? Let me know your favs!
