It’s that again. You know…that time of year all of us beauty junkies marked on our calendars last year and have been anticipating ever since: the Sephora VIB Sale (Beauty Insider). It’s the big one. And although many other beauty retailers hold sales throughout the year, there’s something about this one that gets us all hot and bothered. In nearly two and a half years of blogging, I’ve never actually done a post about the sale. As a change of pace from my usual reviews, I thought it might be fun to share with you guys my Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations along with my personal wishlist. Sephora’s annual holiday shopping event is scheduled online and in-stores for 4th – 7th November, 2016 for Rouges and 11th – 14th for VIB’s. (VIB Rouges will get 20% off with code 20ROUGE and VIBs will receive 20% off their orders with code 20VIB).
Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations
Bobbi Brown To Glow Shimmer Brick Palette Trio. One of my best holiday buys so far, I reviewed this palette a couple of weeks ago. Intense highlights that are best suited for those who enjoy a serious glow these long lasting, finely milled powders apply smoothy and evenly to the face without overly emphasizing skin texture. A must have for Shimmer Brick lovers and a great investment for those looking to add some Shimmer Bricks to their collection. Retails for $69.00 USD ($122.00 USD value).
Sephora Favorites Beauty Sleep. You may have seen me feature this nifty little skincare set on Instagram which contains minis of skincare products that work while you sleep (deep moisturizers/treatments). I’ve been testing them out several weeks now and I’m really enjoying the products so far. If you’ve ever wanted to try the Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm, Sunday Riley Blue Moon Tranquility Cleansing Balm or KORRES Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial, for example, then this set is a great deal at $30.00 USD (value of $90.00 USD).
Beauty Blender & Holiday Sets. Personally, I think a Beauty Blender is a great investment any time of year. It’s one of the best tool I’ve come across to apply my foundation. But, for a sponge, they are quite pricey so getting 20% off does help ease the blow. I own the original pinks ones as well as the new-ish nude version but plan to pick up the black (pro version that applies fuller coverage) during the sale. There are a few value sets for the holidays that are worth a look as a nice way to try more from the brand. Retails for $20.00 – $40.00 USD.
Sunday Riley #SquadGoals Skincare Essentials Kit. Although I don’t actually own this set, I’ve tried almost all of the products included with good results. (Ceramic Slip Clay Cleanser, Luna Sleeping Night Oil, Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream & Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment). Really enjoying the Luna Oil and Lactic Acid Treatment, in particular. If you’ve always wanted to try Sunday Riley products, this set is a great way to get your feet wet. Retails for $90.00 USD ($112.00 USD value).
NARS Audacious Lipsticks. One of my favorites, the NARS Audacious Lipsticks are a really spectacular lipstick formula. There were a couple of beautiful new shades released this past Fall (reviewed here) which I added to those already in my collection. Though not as pricey as some super high end lipsticks, they are still a hefty $32.00 USD each. The sale is a great time grab those shades you’ve been eyeing.
And finally, a Wishful Thinking item…the Anastasia Beverley Hills x Mario Palette. Despite owning it for several weeks now, I haven’t done a review because it sold out so quickly. Therefore, I thought it unfair to talk about something no longer available. This was before I discovered that it was still available at ULTA, however. So for those who really want it and don’t mind paying full price check out ULTA’s website. If by some miracle this comes back in stock during the Sephra VIB sale, I highly recommend!
My Sephora VIB Sale Wishlist
In addition to the products mentioned above, there are a few items on my personal wishlist. All of which I’ve never tried before. As such, I cannot say with confidence that I recommend them. Of course, I’d never do that without trying a product first. That being said, I have heard many great things about my wishlist choices.
Givenchy Mister Brow Filler Tinted Waterproof.
Over the years, I’ve heard nothing but good things about the clear version of this brow gel. As I’m not a big user of clear brow gels, I think I’ll give the tinted version a try. It’s meant to fill in sparse areas so I’d thought I’d compare it to my beloved Benefit Gimme Brow. Retails for $27.00 USD.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue. In addition to hearing great things about this eyeshadow primer, I have actually tried a few samples. I can confirm that it is fantastic for helping both glitter and shimmery eye shadows cling and pop on the eyes. Retails for $20.00 USD.
Kat Von D Lock-It Edge Concealer Brush. All of Kat Von D’s new makeup brushes have gotten good reviews but this one is meant to be exceptional for applying concealer and getting into those crevices around the eyes. Retails for $24.00 USD.
Cinema Secrets Super Sealer Mattifying Setting Spray. Still grieving the loss of my Kat Von D Lock It Setting Spray (please come back), I’m hopeful that Cinema Secrets can fill the void left by its departure. Retails for $24.00 USD.
Bésame Cosmetics Brightening Face Powder Trio Set. A maybe. This vintage-inspired brand has held some allure for me since first being featured on Sephora’s website. I may just take the plunge with this holiday value set. Retails for $25.00 USD.
My final recommendation/wish list item? If it’s within your budget, splurge on that one special item. You know the one. It’s been sitting in your cart or on your wishlist for ages. But you can’t bring yourself to check out because maybe you think it’s too frivolous or spendy. Now is the time. Treat yourself!
