Hey guys, raise your hands if you’re with me for a short favorites this month? Its been a super busy few weeks for me, and so this month’s standouts are those go-to products that I knew I could rely on to get me through it, especially when needing to put myself together in a hurry!
Nars Light Reflecting Powder: I don’t know why this hasn’t been in a favorites before. I love this translucent powder for setting concealer under my eyes as well as setting my foundation. It creates a soft focus effect and really helps to blur minor imperfections like large pores. See full review here.
Yves Rocher Concealer: Quick and easy, love this for inner eye area where we can get shadowing and darkness. See full review here.
No Bleeding Lips Lip Liner: Great for reigning in those bold lip colours and prevents feathering. There are cheaper options out there but this one works well and it’s the one I have. See full review here.
Kevyn Aucoin Eye Shadow Duo in Antique Silver/Plum Shimmer: Although I’ve only just reviewed this, it’s been an easy duo to reach for that I know works and I love the seasonally appropriate looks it creates with the help of a simple blending shade.
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25: One of the best lip balms I’ve ever tried!
(EDIT: 2nd October, 2014) Benefit Gimme Brow: As the lovely Gyudy pointed out in the comment section below, I completely forgot to mention this favorite. It really needs no introduction, lol. The Gimme Brow is fantastic for creating groomed brows in seconds and filling in those sparse areas. And even though my brows on the sparse side, it still works for me!
Social Media Favorites
Kristen Gehm has been long time favourite of mine. I love her straight-forward, honest, thorough and pleasantly delivered reviews and features. Watching her videos is like hanging out with a friend and learning a few things on the way as well.
Tara’s channel reminds me of a decadent dessert, her haul/tutorial combos are extraordinary. She is also one of the most unique youtubers I’ve come across with her mix of girly makeup lover and seriously skilled farm girl.
Karen’s blog, KP Says is well executed and balanced. I appreciate her perspective and approach and lover her message of empowering women over 40 to claim their pretty!
A nice mix of drugstore and high-end, I’m always learning about great European brands I’ve never heard of when I visit Laura’s blog, Pink Frenzy.
Sunny’s blog, Mostly Sunny captured my attention this past month. I love the products she features which really speak to my taste and aesthetic. She approaches her blog in a fun but professional manner and I truly admire this!
Melissa is a well estasblihed blogger, having started in 2012 when she was a makeup artist and this is reflected in her blog, Kiss and Makeup Beauty Blog.
