September Favorites (2014)

Hey guys, raise your hands if you’re with me for a short favorites this month? Its been a super busy few weeks for me, and so this month’s standouts are those go-to products that I knew I could rely on to get me through it, especially when needing to put myself together in a hurry!

September Favorites 2014

Nars Light Reflecting Powder: I don’t know why this hasn’t been in a favorites before. I love this translucent powder for setting concealer under my eyes as well as setting my foundation. It creates a soft focus effect and really helps to blur minor imperfections like large pores. See full review here.

Yves Rocher Concealer: Quick and easy, love this for inner eye area where we can get shadowing and darkness. See full review here.

No Bleeding Lips Lip Liner: Great for reigning in those bold lip colours and prevents feathering. There are cheaper options out there but this one works well and it’s the one I have. See full review here.

Kevyn Aucoin Eye Shadow Duo in Antique Silver/Plum Shimmer: Although I’ve only just reviewed this, it’s been an easy duo to reach for that I know works and I love the seasonally appropriate looks it creates with the help of a simple blending shade.

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25: One of the best lip balms I’ve ever tried!

(EDIT: 2nd October, 2014) Benefit Gimme Brow: As the lovely Gyudy pointed out in the comment section below, I completely forgot to mention this favorite. It really needs no introduction, lol. The Gimme Brow is fantastic for creating groomed brows in seconds and filling in those sparse areas. And even though my brows on the sparse side, it still works for me!

    1. Thank you, Serene. Yes, that Light Reflecting Powder is amazing, don’t know how I lived without it! 🙂

  2. Ohh liking the look of your favourites. Ofcourse, the Benefit Gimme Brow is pretty awesome 😉 I am looking for a setting powder myself, the Nars one looks really interesting. Hmm.. not sure which one to go for now! The Laura Mercier Setting Powder still seems to be winning the battle tbh! They once applied it on me and I really liked it!

    1. I’ve never tried the Laura Mercier so I can’t compare, unfortunately. 🙁 But I’ve heard great things about the LM brightening powder for under the eyes. Let me know how it works out for you if you get it! I may have to try that next. 🙂

  3. Loving your favourites! Thanks for the youtube & blog recommendations 🙂
I really need to try Benefit’s gimme brow!

    1. You’re welcome, Karen. The Gimme Brow is a cult favorite I think, lol. 🙂

  4. Eee thanks, Kimmy! What a great honor to be on your September favorite list!

I love how the Kevyn Aucoin duo looks on you, and I’ve been very curious about Gimme Brow! I might have to use it on top of my brow pencil though, since my brows are born so, SO sparse!

    1. It’s my pleasure, Sunny! I’ve enjoyed your blog so much and all of your lovely recommendations and features. 🙂 My brows are actually naturally thin and more sparse as well and I still find that the Gimme Brow works for me. Sometimes, to get a more defined look, like you, I will use a pencil to beef up the inner brow area and the tail. 🙂

  5. Thanks for including me in your September favorites 🙂 I love Benefit gimme brow too! It has saved my brow routine! xo’s

    1. You’re welcome, Laura. It’s definitely a product I can’t live without! 🙂

  6. Love your picks, as usual! And the GimmeBrow? I know it’s so awesome it doesn’t even need words, but I guess it got lost in the process of writing the post… Eheh 😉 I know what a busy week means, yesterday I stayed up late because I couldn’t stand to not even have the time to reply to comments… Today I’m so tired though, ugh! Have a nice day my friend 🙂 xx

    Gyudy’s Notes Of Beauty

    1. Lol. I had a momentary loss in brain function there. I’ve since edited it…perhaps, like you said, I subconsciously recognised that the product needs no words to capture it’s magnificence, haha! I hope you got some rest my dear. I admire your dedication to your readers, as always! I’ve got to do some catching up on blogs myself this week. 🙂

  7. Awwww, thank you so so much for the love! *hugs* At first I was going to post a comment about that lip liner, but I feel so warm and fuzzy now that I can’t focus anymore 😉

    1. Thank you sweetie! Of course I had to mention you, I’ve been loving your blog so much this month and so glad I discovered it! xxKimmy

That was so sweet of you to mention my blog! I will definitely check out your favorites, as I’m always looking for new blogs/youtubers! If you don’t watch LustreLux on You Tube, I would recommend her!

  8. I love Tara & Kristen too!

    1. Aren’t they great? I think I’ve seen you in the comment section. 😀 xx
