OZ Naturals is a skin care company that focuses on natural anti-aging solutions for healthy skin. The brand is completely new to me and I’d never heard of it before. But I recently had the opportunity to try two of their products: the Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser and Hyaluronic Acid Serum. Here are my thoughts…
OZ Naturals Review – Ocean Mineral Facial Cleanser
The OZ Natural’s website describes the *Ocean Mineral Cleanser as “a proprietary concentrate of 92+ Ocean Minerals in a highly bio-available therapeutic facial cleanser” that “nourishes and repairs dry skin, blemishes, skin lesions, and rough, damaged skin, while botanicals soothe and stimulate cellular regeneration”. Key ingredients include “rosehip oil, rich ocean minerals and Vitamin E”.
It is gel cleanser that is very concentrated and produces plenty of “foam” – which I enjoy, especially during the warmer months of the year. Despite the high foaming action, however, the Ocean Mineral Cleanser does not leave the skin feel dry or tight – just clean but well-balanced. There isn’t a heavy fragrance either – it has a light, clean scent. I’m also a fan of the ingredients, most of which are easily recognizable, and 72% organic.
Although my skin is typically oily-combo, I was suffering from some dry patches, especially around the neck area. After using the cleanser for about three weeks (mostly in the mornings), along with the Hyaluronic Acid Serum (discussed below), my moisture levels seemed to improve. I also tend to be blemish prone and this cleanser did not exacerbate that problem.
One thing I do wish to note, however, is that while the cleanser did not irritate my skin – it did sting my eyes slightly. I did not use it directly on the eye area, but sometimes in the act of removing the cleanser from my face with water, some product would inevitable find its way there.
I contacted OZ Naturals regarding this concern and they explained that the “ocean minerals” (which apparently include sea water) in the product, while not harmful to the eye area, may cause mild stinging “much the same effect as going swimming in the ocean”.
I did appreciate the company taking the time to provide this explanation and I suppose it does make sense. Perhaps my experience was unique, but I thought it worth pointing out. And while I did enjoy the cleanser for the most part and will continue using it, I don’t think I would repurchase.
A full size of 4 fl. oz retails for $23.99.

OZ Naturals Review – Hyaluronic Acid Serum Plus Vitamin C
According to the OZ Naturals, the potent “sponge-like matrix” of its *Hyaluronic Acid Serum holds moisture that is responsible for plumping skin and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles”, leaving skin soft and rejuvenated. The company also claims that, as a result of being botanically derived, its Hyaluronic Acid is considered to be the highest quality HA serum on the market. Also enriched with Vitamin C, it promises to:
- Plump and hydrate dry, dull skin
- Assist in balancing skin moisture levels
- Speed up skin-cell turnover, keeping new and healthy skin on the surface
- Diminish surface lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen
- Naturally lift and firm sagging skin
Most of us have heard of the benefits of Hyaluronic Acid, an ingredient that can hold up to 100 times its weight in water. As a result, it is included in many moisturizers and serums promising to improve hydration.
After using the OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid serum for about four weeks, I can attest to the fact that is does indeed do a good job at improving moisture levels. As mentioned, I’d been suffering from some dry patches as of late which weren’t pretty to look at. This serum really helped with that situation.
The funny thing about this formula is that when first applied – it actually feels like its mattifying the skin – which may seem counter intuitive. It surprised me because this “matte” feeling made me think the serum would dry out my skin. Over the course of use, however, the fact that my skin felt and looked more hydrated told a different story. Based on this experience, I would say that the serum may not be the best fit for those with drier skin but those with oily skin may really appreciate the mattifying effect. OZ Naturals recommends following the serum with a moisturizer, which I did.
In addition to hydration, I also noticed a reduction in redness. I took a look at the ingredients and saw that the third ingredient is Witch Hazel – which is traditionally used in anti-acne products to combat inflammation. This fact may be of interest to those looking for something that may also help control mild acne.
Overall, I enjoyed the serum and it’s worth a try, especially at this price point. A full size of 1 fl oz retails for $15.79. I think Hyaluronic Acid is an ingredient most everyone can benefit from adding to their routine. And if this particularly formulation doesn’t work for you, it’s not such a huge financial loss.
The OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid serum is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten-free, and GMO-free. Ingredients are 98% natural and 72% organic. Notably, the serum does not contain alcohol.
Full List of Ingredients: Organic Aloe, Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, Witch Hazel, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, MSM, Hydroxyethyl Cellulose, Carrageenan Gum, Organic Jojoba Oil, Wildcrafted Green Tea, Geranium Essential Oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Ethyl Hexyl Glycerin.
Final Thoughts: Generally speaking, I think positives of the brand are that the products are relatively affordable compared to some others and their use of organic/natural ingredients is appealing to those in the market for more “natural” skincare.
