Crazy for Coral: YSL Rouge Volupte Rose Neillia

This post was suppose to go up ages ago…closer to the time when this colour was actually  “newish” but it somehow got pushed to the back of the line.

Anyway, it’s still the height of Summer, so I thought there may be some of you still interested in a review of this lovely coral lipstick which was released in YSL’s Spring 2014 collection. I’ve been on a coral craze lately.

 YSL Rouge Volupte Rose Neillia

YSL Rouge Volupte Rose Neillia (33) is a warm, medium pink-coral, full coverage colour with a glossy finish (as most lipsticks in this line are).

Now for any of you familiar with this formula, it feels comfortable on the lips though it tends to have a bit of slip because of it’s supremely buttery texture. I found that to be especially the case with this colour which was even more slippery than some of the other YSL lippies that I own.

It applied evenly for the most part, but can get slightly patchy with too many layers. Unfortunately, I don’t think this colour is still available at all retailers online. When I tried to look for it the only place I could find it is feelunique.com(not an affiliate link).  There may be a chance that it is still in stores, so if you’re interested, I would check the counters.  The Rouge Volupte lipsticks sell for $31.00 BSD (Bahamas) or $35.00 USD/£25.00 GBP.

Rose Neillia was the fourth edition of YSL lipsticks to my collection. I simply cannot resist the absolutely stunning, luxurious packaging and I actually really, really enjoy how these lipsticks feel on the lips. There are simply a pleasure to apply (as the name rouge volupté suggests),

What are your thoughts? Are these lippies worth the hefty price tag?

    1. Thanks hun! They are definitely a worthwhile splurge (in my opinion). So many options to choose from. Let me know which one you end up getting. FYI, I just came from http://lauralondonblog.com/ and she happened to also review a YSL lippie today from the same collection in a different colour, if you want to compare swatches. 🙂

Too bad to hear your UK trip got cancelled btw.. 🙁 let me know when you visit London at some point ! And if you can’t really make it, I’ll send Bourjois Ping Pong to the Bahamas 😀 Hah! x
