My Collection & Jo Malone Silk Blossom

I’ve recently added a new member to my Collection: Jo Malone Silk Blossom, a limited edition fragrance released at the end of April (2014).

Thank you to Anoushka from Anoushka Loves for reviewing this and brining it to my attention. As soon as I saw it on her blog, I knew I had to have it.

Jo Malone Silk Blossom

Silk Blossom was created in collaboration with perfumer Marie Salamagne and the notes include: white pepper, silk tree blossom, apricot and moss. To me, the floral notes are strongest here, with a slight fruitiness that makes it a more universally appealing scent. Upon initial dry down, I noticed a hint of powder that dissipated within a few minutes. Although the floral dominates, this definitely gets sweeter the longer it lingers on the skin. I am a fan!

The other three members of the family are:

Jo Malone Silk Blossom

Red Roses, Lemon Tart, Silk Blossom and Vanilla & Anise

Red Roses (Permanent): A Valentines gift from the BF last year, this is a blend of five roses ( ). Now rose scents are usually not my thing and this one is straight up rose, but sophisticated enough that I wear it from time to time, sometimes layered with another spicier scent.

Lemon Tart (Limited Edition): This was released last summer as part of the “Sugar & Spice” Limited Edition Spring 2013 Collection. Admittedly, I got it because it was LE but I really do like the scent of lemon (think key lime pie or lemon meringue not pinesol) and this scent had my name all over it. I’ve used almost the entire bottle and I’m trying to conserve those last few applications.

Vanilla and Anise (Permanent): My all time favourite. The perfect blend of sweet and spicy, in soft way, this is my signature scent. This one works really well with my skin chemistry and I find it gets better the longer you have it on. The only drawback is that it doesn’t seem to last longer than 3-4 hours, but I could bathe in this stuff!

Are you a Jo Malone fan? Interested in Jo Malone Silk Blossom? What are some of your favorite fragrances?

Edit (16/6/14): For my local ladies: The Cosmetic Boutique (Downtown Nassau) carries Jo Malone. However, as of 16 June, 2014, this is sold out. The representative that I spoke with did say they she can take names/numbers to contact interested individuals should Silk Blossom come back in stock. The cost of the regular line of fragrances is: $115.00 (100 ml) and  $60.00 (30 ml).

i love jo malone! wish i owned more!

    1. Yes, they are such an expensive habit, lol. We sometimes don’t get the LE collections but for the regular line, Jo Malone is actually a few dollars cheaper in The Bahamas (like that makes a huge difference). I have to admit, I got a little excited to see an established blogger like yourself stop by! 🙂
