As promised in my July Favorites, in which I featured my MAC Palette, I’ve finally managed to put together the swatches of my MAC Eyeshadow Collection. I started building this palette about one year ago and it contains the entirety of my collection (for the time being). I really do enjoy my MAC shadows, which are very, very good, though not my all time favorite in terms of formula. There won’t be too much chit-chat, save some brief comments on some of the shades. Also, I will be featuring them in rows of three, starting with the top left hand corner. I hope you guys enjoy and it is helpful to any of you looking to begin, add to and/or build your own MAC palette. All photos taken in natural light.
Row 1 (Fall Trifecta): Expensive Pink (Veluxe Pearl), Coppering (Veluxe Pearl), Cranberry (Frost) – These were the first three MAC shadows that I purchased just before October of last year. I was looking for some fall/autumn colours to jazz up my eye routine. I’ve since dubbed these my “Fall Trifecta”.
Row 2 (“One Stop Shop”): Woodwinked (Veluxe Pearl), Satin Taupe (Frost), Knight Divine (Pearl) – I purchased all of these separately but refer to them as my “one stop shop” shadows because in a pinch, you can create a pretty decent eye look using only one of these shadows, especially Woodwinked, along with perhaps a crease blending shade.
Row 3 (“The Crease”): Soft Brown (Matte), Brown Script (Matte), Embark (Matte) – These browns, to me, are absolutely necessary for crease work. Soft Brown blended all over the crease just makes everything better, while Brown Script and Embark add dimension to the outer corner.
Row 4 (“Keeping it Cool”): Brule (Satin), Wedge (Matte), Quarry (Matte) – I consider Wedge and Quarry to be cooler crease colours, which is why I placed them together in this row. Brule is a lovely cream matte brow highlight.
Row 5: Bamboo (Matte), Rice Paper (Frost), Naked Lunch (Frost) – I kept meaning to switch Bamboo and Brule, so that I can call this my highlighter row. I need to get on that, especially as I consider Bamboo to be on the cooler side.. 🙂 Rice Paper and Naked Lunch are two shimmery but subtle brow/inner corner highlight shades, with Rice Paper being more yellow and Naked Lunch more peach (Naked Lunch is showing up more white in the photo but its definitely peachy – this seems to come through a little better in the swatches).
Whew! That was some major swatching. Do you guys like MAC shadows? What are some of your favourites? If you have a post of your collection, please share!
