My MAC Eyeshadow Collection Palette & Swatches

MAC Eyeshadow Collection Palette

MAC Eyeshadow Collection Palette

As promised in my July Favorites, in which I featured my MAC Palette, I’ve finally managed to put together the swatches of my MAC Eyeshadow Collection. I started building this palette about one year ago and it contains the entirety of my collection (for the time being). I really do enjoy my MAC shadows, which are very, very good, though not my all time favorite in terms of formula. There won’t be too much chit-chat, save some brief comments on some of the shades. Also, I will be featuring them in rows of three, starting with the top left hand corner.  I hope you guys enjoy and it is helpful to any of you looking to begin, add to and/or build your own MAC palette. All photos taken in natural light.

Row 1 (Fall Trifecta): Expensive Pink (Veluxe Pearl), Coppering (Veluxe Pearl), Cranberry (Frost) – These were the first three MAC shadows that I purchased just before October of last year. I was looking for some fall/autumn colours to jazz up my eye routine. I’ve since dubbed these my “Fall Trifecta”.

Row 2 (“One Stop Shop”): Woodwinked (Veluxe Pearl), Satin Taupe (Frost), Knight Divine (Pearl) – I purchased all of these separately but refer to them as my “one stop shop” shadows because in a pinch, you can create a pretty decent eye look using only one of these shadows, especially Woodwinked, along with perhaps a crease blending shade.

Row 3 (“The Crease”): Soft Brown (Matte), Brown Script (Matte), Embark (Matte) – These browns, to me, are absolutely necessary for crease work. Soft Brown blended all over the crease just makes everything better, while Brown Script and Embark add dimension to the outer corner.

Row 4 (“Keeping it Cool”): Brule (Satin), Wedge (Matte), Quarry (Matte) – I consider Wedge and Quarry to be cooler crease colours, which is why I placed them together in this row. Brule is a lovely cream matte brow highlight.

Row 5: Bamboo (Matte), Rice Paper (Frost), Naked Lunch (Frost) – I kept meaning to switch Bamboo and Brule, so that I can call this my highlighter row. I need to  get on that, especially as I consider Bamboo to be on the cooler side.. 🙂 Rice Paper and Naked Lunch are two shimmery but subtle brow/inner corner highlight shades, with Rice Paper being more yellow and Naked Lunch more peach (Naked Lunch is showing up more white in the photo but its definitely peachy – this seems to come through a little better in the swatches).

Great palette – bit jealous since I still don’t have my own Mac Palette! But I will, very soon 😉 Seen some great colours I’d like to add to my own collection once I got a palette!
It would be lovely if you could show some eye make up looks? I’m sure you’re awesome at doing some eye looks (and I suck at it.. so I need tips&tricks!). xx

Thanks Silke! I would love to do some eye looks. My only hesitation is that I don’t know how well the photos will come out (until I get a better camera)- but this is something I have thought about. I have a review of some Ardency Inn products next week, and I put an eye look together with those products. If you happen to catch that post, let me know what you think of how those photos turned out. If the quality is decent enough then I’ll definitely pursue creating more looks in the future:-)

Wow great post! Fab MAC eyeshadow collection! My 3 fave MAC eyeshadows are Woodwinked, All that Glitters and Satin Taupe. Adele x acesparklestar.blogspot.co.uk

Thanks hun. Those are some great ones. I really want All that Glitters – but I’m afraid to buy another shadow – because you know what that means, I’ll have to start another palette, lol. 🙂

mine isn’t nearly as exciting! i need more pops of color!

    1. Kimmy

Aww, thanks. I think I ended up started with colour and then ending with neutral. If I hadn’t been on a mission to get those fall colours way back, this would probably be more neutral as well. I’ve contemplated building another one with even more bright colours but still debating. 🙂

You should see my new MAC shadow wishlist after this post! I’m going to get Satin Taupe, Expensive Pink and Brown Script as soon as possible!

Haha. Sorry, not sorry, to enable. 🙂 Trust me, if I had access to the “I Heart” Brand, I would definitely be the owner of some of those products you featured, particularly the blush. Gorgeous. And I am so going to figure out how to recreate that green eye look.

I love how your palette is organized! My little palette has Satin Taupe, Shroom, Woodwinked, and Cranberry. Coppering looks like a perfect shade for fall.

Thank you sweetie. 🙂 That sounds like a killer combo. I should think about some quads next as opposed to another full palette.

  6. Gyudy (@Gyudy)

Love your palette! I should share mine sometimes in the future, it’s always a good read! I’m a bit torn about recommending MAC eyeshadows though, the biggest problem is that they’re so inconsistent across the line… Some are straight awful, whether with other brands like Too Faced or Urban Decay it almost never happens… Love that you named all the rows!!! 🙂 xx

You totally should share yours. I would love too see what some of your favorites are and how you’ve organised your palette. I agree with you, not all of the formulas are created equal. I have the best luck with the Veluxe Pearl….and to be honest, I prefer my Makeup Geek Shadows sometimes. 🙂 But I still very much enjoy my MAC palette.

I love what’s in my MAC palette posts. I have a lot of these too. Embark is totally on my wish list. It looks like such a great shade.

I’m glad you liked it! Do you have a collection post/swatches? Would live to check it out! 🙂

Thank you, Serene. Expensive Pink is definitely a classic, beautiful shade that would do well in anyone’s collection. 🙂
